I do not need to remind any of you that today is the anniversary of 9/11 - I can extrapolate from the chat today that most of you are aware. I wanted to clear up a few things, because it seems that none of you understand exactly what today is. Today is the anniversary of one of the darkest days in recent history for Americans. Today is the anniversary of one of the most iconic acts of terrorism against the US. Today is the anniversary, for many, of the last day they saw a friend, family member, or loved one.A large portion of you seem to think this is funny. A large portion of you think you are cool for making jokes about this publicly - that you're some edgy internet role model. I can only assume you were not alive when this happened. I can only assume you did not see the videos of the towers falling. I can only assume you did not see the look on someone's face as they told you what had happened that day - the way the color and happiness had drained from it.
In the aftermath of 9/11, we were left with bodies and terror. These morphed into prejudices, such that for more than a decade after, people still think badly of those for their religion, all because of the actions of a small, terrible, rouge group. There is nothing funny about this. There is nothing to joke about. What you joke around with your friends is your business - make all the offensive comments you want. Don't you fucking dare do it on this server as I have seen you do today. Don't you fucking dare pull that bullshit in front of someone who may very well have lost a parent in this tragedy. Don't you fucking dare disgrace the sacrifice of those heroic first responders and the tragedy of those victims who were lost on this day just for your shitty, unoriginal, and childish sense of humor.
For all those who have suffered losses on this day, I cannot fathom what you still feel, separated by all these years. I hope that your life is filled with happiness, and that this sadness may be balanced with joy, even if it can never replace or heal it. To those who have been discriminated against for actions that do not define them, I hope you will one day be vindicated, and no longer be forced to bear that terrible burden known as judgment and racism. To all those, suffering from whatever tragedy, I hope you find help and support. I hope you find love, and learn to love stronger for having been wronged.
May all those who were lost on this day find peace in their rest.

He posted a recycled meme that's been posted in the forum before. Honestly, the only reason people care so much about all the 9/11 jokes is because today is actually 9/11. Choose any other time of the year and people wouldn't be as offended or offended at all. Also, his other thread has nothing to do with his post in this thread, which I deemed serious.
