Greetings everyone.I really wanted to build something so I decided to build a map for Badlion. With the help of WorldEdit and a friend _BaeD we built it in about a week. I am not quite sure if it is good for PvP as there is not a lot of open area. I am not quite sure if it should be for PvP, it could be a lobby for something, perhaps. We called the map Ronertia.
I am not putting a download link in this thread because I will only PM it to certain people and I do not have the link yet (need to figure out how to upload files like a Minecraft world).

Here are the main facts about the map:
Builders: Teracerus and _BaeD (help: Kegsersleeuwen)
Theme: Steampunk/Medieval
Size: 66x71 (says WorldEdit’s //count command)
Map location: Around 0,0
Entities: 2 - item frames in the stable
Bird’s Perspective
Any building does not have an entrance to prevent from camping inside of them.

Edit: I did some minor changes, like adding glass panes at 1:58, adding more light (lamps), a bit more detailed interior at 1:12.
Edit II: With the help of _BaeD we built basic pathways like this and built a more proper pathway in the middle and changed some lights (mainly in darker places).
Edit III: Fixed some random holes and added/fixed some lamps in the map.
Edit IV: Removed the slabs in the middle so it won’t annoy anyone, screenshot. Made the clockwork much thinner so there should be more space for PvP, screenshot. Made the small marketplace house smaller as well, for the same reason and also fixed its interior, screenshot. Fixed the possible way to go camp on the markets, http://prntscr.com/8idapw. Replaced one of the markets with a lamp, for more open area, here is the screenshot.
Edit V: Added a propeller to the clockwork since its bases were changed, look here and here. Replaced grass with some wooden patterns here (next to the 1st airship dock).
Edit VI: Added a huge tree in the lake region, you can see a screenshot here. Then we added a bridge between the yellow hot air balloon and the 1st airship dock’s roof, additionally built a little house there, screenshot.

Yeah, great build. I really enjoyed how it looked, but… There was too many things to pvp. Like, someone hits me. They hit me into something. RIP…. You should remove some of the builds in the map. Overall, cool map man!Posted on 14 September 2015 - 04:08 PM

May I ask you to tell me what building should I get rid of? The clockwork is the most useless (you cannot go there, you cannot climb it…), however, the one I put the most effort in when building it.

The map looks great but I agree that it's not optimal for PVP. The simpler the better (to some extent of course) – it's a bit too cluttered in the middle. The clockwork looks awesome in my opinion so don't remove that but maybe remove some of the structures in the middle (like the fountain).Nevertheless, thanks for your effort. The map really does look good and it could do well as a lobby imo, or as a PVP arena too but with some modifications.

I replaced the fountain with a pathway in the middle (also with help of a friend _BaeD), looks like this. The fountain is still somewhere outside of the map I believe (so I can put it back if needed).
I will try to upload some PvP matches so you will see how it goes.

I gathered some footage of PvP in the map, @Ylijumala.Once again, I replaced the fountain in the middle with some proper pathways, it seems less cluttered now. Having bow fights in the map is fine now imo.

With the 2nd video, try removing the slabs, they get in the way of strafing etc. There used to me a map in this style back in season 3-5 which was removed as you could pearl to the player on the otherside, and the match was over in 10 seconds. I feel this has the same feel, but fixing the crutial problem with it. Maybe remove one of the houses also, it shouldn't feel like a maze where you can't see the opponent. With some work this map will probs be my favourite map out of the maps on badlion (If its added), I already like it but there needs to be some editations to the map to optimize it for pvp.Posted on 18 September 2015 - 07:25 AM
