Today has been a very long and stressful day, but a rewarding one at the same time. Today marks the 10th BadlionPvP/KitPvP/PotionPvP/SoupPvP/ArenaPvP season that we have launched on our network. It has been 27 months since I joined the team on this long journey through good and bad times. Today, this, now is definitely a good time.We have shattered records and realized some of my dreams today. Never did I imagine I was actually going to be programming games, let alone have them be played by a million players. Today Badlion broke one million unique players on our network. We have had almost 5% of the players who have ever purchased Minecraft come onto our server at least one time. To me that is crazy. We also reached an all time new record peak of 5632 concurrent players online at 20:34 UTC.
Here I have been for 2 years now telling myself this game isn't going to last, and that Badlion is never going to amount to anything, and yet here I am proven wrong by every one of the one million players. So thanks for taking the time to prove me wrong, it's not an easy thing to do, but I am glad to be wrong here. I think that 1.9 is going to be different, but not necessarily worse. It actually might end up turning out better, there is still a long way until it's released. We will still support legacy 1.7/1.8 for as long as we need to when 1.9 is released.
Honestly I have been staring at my screen for about 15 minutes now, and this is all I have been able to type. I'm not sure if it's the exhaustion, or the shock, or a mix of both, but I am definitely speechless.
I hope that we continue to grow, and the next goal is obviously over 9000 (hence the 9001 player limit). I want to share some of the upcoming development plans, but I am not giving any release dates or estimates (minus SkyWars) because I need to take a step back from this. It's causing me a bit too much stress and I just started a new day job. Badlion is still not a full time job for @Archybot or myself, but I am hoping that maybe one day it can become one.
Jacub is working on a website re-skin. The look and feel of this website is two years old, and we have added a lot of features since it was launched. He will also be working with the website for future additions, including a much needed issue/feature tracker. We try to make everything on our website based on your one login from doing /register in game.
giantcrack has been working on the new SkyWars game mode, and once I finally get some time to sit down with him and give him some guidance, I can't wait to see what he comes up with.
SmellyPengin is still my right hand man on the development team. He helps anywhere I need to throw him at (except GCheat, that is my baby ^.^). He has been with us 18 months and a lot of our growth and success is from his hard work. The first version of SmellyChat (what he wrote to become a jr dev) was cancerous. Oh my lord it had so many bugs, but he has improved a lot over his time here and we would not have made it this far without his help.
Archybot is the guy that handles a lot of the bitch work and heat from the community. He acts like a filter between the players and the development team at times, and helps us prioritize important bug fixes and features.
So there are a lot of things I want to add to the network still, the list never ends. The issue/feature tracker will help get us there. There are a lot of internal things I want to work on to make managing this large growing network easier, there is already a beta of GCheat 2.0 on the servers today (hi to my friends in the hacker community, I have not forgotten you), our client anti-cheat is still in the works, and also there is a new game mode that Archy, Smelly and I are working on that we hope to released around the holiday season. It's going to be a very big game mode, and we hope that everyone loves it.
That's about all I have to say for now. Thanks for helping us to make it this far. I wonder how far we can make it…

This server is honestly my favorite.. I play it practically daily for hour on end and it is just so fun and awesome to play on. I so want to thank you for the amazing times and more times to come on the Badlion Network as I have been playing for about a year and has been one of the most entertaining, fun, and competitive online experience I have ever had.Posted on 19 September 2015 - 05:54 PM

Thanks for all the hard work you put into Badlion. The sad thing is, that more than a tenths of all players who joined badlion were Hackers.

Thanks for everything…. We all really appreciate it. This seemingly insignificant server gave real meaning to my lif e. It's incredible what a small community and amazing players can do to youPosted on 19 September 2015 - 06:40 PM

I'm expecting that Badlion will eventually top servers like Mineplex if you keep adding new servers but always competive pvp.I remember when the server only peaked at 200 players.
Nice work man ;)
