Hey, I'd like to address something.

I was playing Badlion when all of a sudden a user named "fluffymonster209" was permanently banned for "Wishing that people die of cancer is not something we like here" https://www.badlion.net/profile/user/fluffymonster209/punishments .And I immediately thought of when someone told me to "get cancer" (which offended me a lot - because of personal things" and got a 7 day mute. That users name is dilanzzz https://www.badlion.net/profile/user/dilanzzz/punishments . Even when he was muted i felt a sense of injustice because I believed he deserved a ban. But now that I know what happened with fluffymonster209 I really believe he should have had a harsher punishment. I am saying this because he said it to me and it hurt my feelings - I think staff should give out the same punishments for the same things, right?

mods discretion :P
i understand that but the difference of a 7 day mute and a perma ban is more than discretion

so, does the player deserve a ban?Posted on 22 September 2015 - 02:39 PM
The guy already served his punishment. He doesn't really deserve another as it is up to the mod that gives the initial punishment.Posted on 23 September 2015 - 03:07 PM
I understand your frustration in the matter, but sometimes it's hard for a moderator to make that kind of decision. While at the same time we try and use the handbook we are given, not every vocabulary word a player can use is in there. What I am getting at is that sometimes we don't know what the intentions of a player are, and the line between encouraging suicide and saying just "kill yourself" is hard to know. We do our best in each and every situation and while yes, some of our decisions can be arguably bad, we do what we think is right. Nobody is perfect, and each moderator had a different thought when muting that person saying bad things. The ruling it gives in the handbook currently is:"go drink bleach" = permaban (encouraging suicide)
"kill yourself" = 7 day mute (hard to know if Ingame or not)
It is up to a moderator's discretion and each one of think differently. If you catch someone saying either of the things listed above or something similar, we will take it very seriously. As for your current situation.. the person who you are talking about served their punishment, so it wouldn't be fair to ban/mute them again. I think they probably learned their lesson but please report them if they haven't (make sure to get evidence). I hope I cleared up any questions regarding this matter but feel free to reach out to me if you have any.
