Today's announcement post is one that I thought would never happen. It's been a very stressful week for me, and I've had a lot going through my head. There is so much work that needs to be done around Badlion. It's honestly growing faster than I ever imagined it would. For the past three months @Archybot and @SmellyPenguin have both been hard at work keeping the network up and adding features. I have worked on parts of it, but not as much as I have in the past. They are both now back in school, and don't have the time they did during their summer holidays either.

I recently stated in the last announcement post that I started a new job. This is true and not true. The truth is I didn't start a new job, I started on a new team at my current job. This team does not have as much flexibility as my old team did, and as a result I am having a hard time balancing Badlion and my day job like I used to be able to. So my first intention was to try and find out if I get back onto my old team. Sadly this did not go well. My old team has no openings and will not at least for a few months if not longer. My next plan of attack was trying to figure out if there was some way I could find more time in my life to help out with Badlion. I came up with the following three remaining options:

1. Limit the growth of Badlion and keep working my day job
2. Sell Badlion
3. Quit my day job

I've been thinking about this all week. To be honest I am not nearly as happy as I was with my old team, and I really really love working on Badlion. I never thought that after all of my years of toying around with projects online, that one of them would take off. Let alone it would take off to the point where I could make a career out of it. Badlion Network won't last forever, because Minecraft won't last forever. I feel that at this point Badlion has built enough of a network and reputation that in the future when Minecraft does finally die, I can move onto a new project and have people ready to try it out (possibly make my own game).

With this all in mind, I have decided I am going to quit my day job. On Monday I will hand in my two week notice. I am going to be the first person to work on Badlion Network full time. If you compare our size to other networks near our size it is kind of shocking that we have made it so far without actually having at least one full time developer already.

I just want to take a quick moment to thank all of the players and donators who have made this possible. Your donations keep this network alive, and allow me now to innovate new ideas and game modes any time of the week. I hope that I can continue to grow Badlion to a larger network, and that we can grow into a larger community.

I have a long list of things already that I need to do once I go full time with Badlion. A lot of it are internal reworks of back-end components that are getting harder and harder to manage as we grow. There are some cool game ideas we want to pursue also, and some other misc things will finally be implemented (such as a tournament plugin, clan integration, friend system, etc).

I feel that here at Badlion the owners, both developers, try to be different from the other major networks. We are not businessmen. We are programmers and we are gamers. We always strive to be open with our community, and always try to do what is best for it.

Once again thank to everyone who has made this opportunity possible, and I hope that I can make it well worth the while :)

gberry , i rage all the time on badlion but i finally realised that u are now putting ur soul and heart into this , im going to also try and improve the community .
