Screensharing
* I know that GBerry is doing the best he can to keep GCheat updated *

That being said, the day in which GBerry was talking about is here.

1. Client side hacks will eventually be undetectable from a server side - This is true. Client side mods will eventually evolve to the point where they are 100% undetectable from a server side.

Most GCs today literally communicate with a minecraft server the exact same way that a regular client does. This is seen especially with players using smooth aimbot.
To use an example: https://www.badlion.net/appeal/thread/8624

[Redacted - Hackusation]
^ Listen removed that, but the link above is essentially what I posted.

Just think about how many closet cheaters there are out there that aren't stupid enough to upload themselves cheating. Of course, Badlion isn't the only server with this problem.
The solution that all other servers have come up with is screensharing.
I understand that you don't want to violate people's privacy - but I personally would much rather be screenshared and have the knowledge that the person I'm fighting is legit rather than wonder if every other person I fight is using smooth aimbot :/

Easiest way to catch Xrayers also.

Just a question.

How exactly are we going to choose who we screenshare? With the amount of reports we get, there's no possible way we can screenshare each and every one of the people that are reported, yet even put a decent dent into them. Usually, there aren't that any mods online at a given time, let alone enough to screenshare that many people.

The reason this has worked for other servers is because they are much smaller. They don't have hundreds of reports coming in every like 10 minutes, and under 1,000 people online TOTAL across all of their servers. I don't think this would be as effective as you might think because of how large a community Badlion is.

Most ghost clients are designed to be virtually impossible to find while screensharing anyway. Just because a ghost client may look normal from a third person perspective doesn't mean that it is hard to detect from the perspective of a person developing a server side anti-cheat.

Kohi does this very effectively with a VERY large playerbase. You don't have to screenshare everybody, just those who receive an abnormally large amount of reports over a period of time (or even what labmity suggested - only screenshare those who surpass an elo threshold [would eliminate a lot of useless reports])- it's really not as hard as you think it is tbh. Takes about 2-3 minutes to get done if you do it fast.

what?
There is no difference between the packets a person using smooth aimbot sends and a person who just has decent aim. Ask Prplz, he's the one who told me that.

Lots of people receive large amounts of reports in a small amount of time. As to the elo threshold, many people have high elo, and people with low elo are going to report them a large amount of times just because they're better than them, so they must be hacking [/sarcasm]. Badlion just had 4,000 people online, which is much larger than kohi's player amount.

IMO, This is a complete violation of privacy.

Like gberry said, eventually the hacks will be undetectable from the serverside. But as of right now, and I don't see this changing very soon, we aren't at that point.

I do NOT support screensharing because of the potential privacy violations and it's super easy to hide anything.
All hacks are detectable server side as of now I believe – they just don't have half of the checks active.

Even with screensharing you can hide your client, especially now that a lot of clients have a 'self destruct' option

Not too many clients have this feature, a "self destruct" isn't even a 100% undetectable. I've heard of techniques that find traces of a client that magically "disappeared" from a persons game. I wish this community never came to a point where some servers are forced to look through people's computers to stop them from harming their business.

a solution to the issue of 1400's reporting high elo players would be to just have higher elo player's reports count towards screenshares.
Like I said before, there is no way to detect smooth aimbot. Ask prplz.
Again, like I said, I would rather have my privacy violated then play with cheateurs.

But you're entitled to your own opinion - one which shouldn't count any more than anybody else's opinion.

The VAST majority of client users don't have self destructing clients –
and even those who do can still get caught. Ask staff from other servers - it's very possible.

nope - smooth aimbot literally is indifferentiable from a person with decent aim.
Triggerbots, autoclickers, and kill auras (hopefully kb modifiers) are probably detectable, but smooth aimbot is a whole nother story
As for screen sharing being a violation of privacy –

How does screen sharing work? Does the person know that you are watching them or no?

When you guys got provida, judgment day followed quickly after.
I indirectly gave Archy a hen client (smooth aimbot) over 5 months ago - nothing.

I hope you're right :c

All smooth Aimbots should be detectable as they stand right now. But it's so easy to bypass that once they start banning for it it'll be a problem again.

I dunno… Maybe hen's clients with their fucked up rotations - but its been over 5 months since both prplz and gberry have received those clients… They would probably have a banning check by now if it was possible.
But this is all speculation. No facts here.

tm = trademark

Yes.
Here's a mock up of the process:

1. Tell the player to get in teamspeak
2. Ask them to download join.me
3. Look through minecraft related files
4. Ban if there is a mod thats illegal
