HACKING RULES UHC
Posted on 07 October 2015 - 06:57 AM
Ok my time to rant :DSo recently I have run into a large INFLUENZA of hackers recently in UHC ranging from things from anti kb - to triggerbot and killaura at the extreme.
In all due respect, I don't know who's rule this was; but if a UHC moderator catches a hacker(PVP) why do they need 3 pieces of evidence I reckon just 1 should suffice? Too many people's games are being ruined because of 1 player. I'm definitely sure that the moderators can tell if someone's hacking or if they are just good. Just a suggestion but if uhc moderators catch a hacker can they just ban them with 1 piece of evidence; because frankly its getting a bit annoying to either fight the hacker or run because the mods have to watch them for ages to ban them… But by then its pointless because they probably would've killed everyone that is decent at UHC.
Not being rude just a suggestion if this is at all possible because I really want to be able to play a UHC without running into this low life scum. I know there still will be hackers but just it will be quicker to ban them. And hopefully giving others a chance to do well <3 Thank you for your time

The reason they need at least 3 pieces of clear evidence is because of sheer lag, or luck in caves. I'm sure we've all had a sketchy moment such as a godly combo or a random vein of diamonds in a cave, and if they only needed one piece of evidence, that would be it right there. Too many people would be getting banned, although they don't cheat at all.Posted on 07 October 2015 - 10:18 AM
We – staff – ban players when we're absolutely sure they're cheating. That's literally the rule of thumb, and it's really simple as well. The amount of evidence pieces we need depends on which hack we're talking about. Something like Anti-Knockback or No Slowdown is pretty straightforward but for bans like X-Ray, Kill Aura or Aimbot we need to be sure it's not just mining luck or lag, as ConmannMC already stated. Every case and every mod's judgement is unique, too.

Strictly talking about pvp hacks, in all honestly, hosts/mods are allowed to ban from one bit of evidence, if it's actually good evidence. Most hosts/mods want to be entirely sure though, so they tend to get more. The 3 piece rule is more geared at xraying. I've banned from a 5-10 second clip before just because it was so obvious. I've also waited a good 5-10 minutes to be sure. The saying is "I'd rather let a hacker go free then ban an innocent player." I stand by this.Let's be blunt, there are a good amount of people that call hacks on absolutely anyone that kills them, because nobody can possibly be better then they are! I've also seen where 1 person accuses someone of hacking, and then their buddies instantly agree, even not having seen proof. Just because someone accuses someone of hacking, doesn't mean they actually are.
