Rules Questions
Hey new to Badlion and have some questions regarding the UHC Rules. Also I apologize if these have previously been answered, I am on mobile and could not find a search function.

Anyhow:

1) 1) No stripmining or pokeholes below y:32. This will result in a two day ban.

I understand the first part but am not sure what a pokehole is. Is that referring to branch mining? Are you only supposed to search in caves? If I am below y32 in a cave am I able to mine stone forward at all or will I need to go about y32 to mine in any direction that is not exposed. If a path is partially exposed or I can hear water or lava around can I mine forward to it?

2) 2)To staircase below y:32, you must go up to y:32 before going back down to y:1.

Pyramid staircases are allowed.

Rollercoasting is allowed as long as you go up to y32 each time.

I don't really understand what is meant here at all. Can someone explain or link me to somewhere that explains this.

Thanks for the help.

Basically it's like strip mining except only breaking the blocks at eye level. There's a limit of like 4 you can do before you have to actually start strip mining so it's called poke holing, because they are poke holes.

Rollercoastering is stair casing down from y32 to bedrock and back up to y32

For #1, pokeholes is where you do not fully strip-mine, but you mine a little in a direction that is not visible. I feel like that description doesn't fully describe a poke hole so here is a picture:

Now poke-holes ARE LEGAL if you hear sounds such as lava or mobs, or see a player's name in that direction (also LEGAL if you are above Y32)

OTHER EXAMPLE:

-The first poke hole above Y32 is LEGAL
-The second poke hole below Y32 is ILLEGAL (Assuming there is no sounds or player's name present)

For #2, these means you are allowed to mine in a rollercoaster-like shape under certain circumstances(going up and down to certain points). For example, you mine up to Y32 then at that point, you mine down to Y1. Some players will mine down to Y1 then only go back up to Y20, then go down again. That is not allowed. To mine like this, you must mine all the way back up to Y32 before going back down to Y1.

Hope this helps!

Thank you guys for taking your time to answer these questions.

Just a couple more questions about staircasing:

Do you have to go down to y1 each time? I usually tend to not go below y11 since lava pools and myself do not mix well especially when they can flow down onto me.

I assume if you were to make a roller coaster type staircase and had a lava bucket it would be fine to leave a lava flow behind your path to try and make it harder for other players to catch up to you in the event they found your stairs?

You HAVE to go down to bedrock each time @Lavaah, otherwise it's like cheating the system ;/

Not entirely sure for your second question, but I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't be allowed… @Bradyy_

For the second question, I see no issue in leaving lava behind you. The only rule is that you have to go up to Y32 each time and back down to Y1.
