Although I don't play anymore, I still pay attention to the Minecraft community and I have noticed a new mod recently. A lot of people have started using the "sprint toggle" modification found on the hcfactions subreddit, but I don't think people understands what it does. Made popular after Sectioned's controversial 1v1, it is now used quite frequently and even promoted in Stimpy's videos. This modification is chosen over the better sprint mod and built in sprint hot key for one reason, it's advantage over regular sprinting. This mod allows players to sprint forward while in mid-air, and that is not part of regular vanilla Minecraft. This means, when hit up in the air during a combo, your opponent gets less knockback if he is using the mod, thus giving the player with the mod an advantage. I feel it shouldn't be allowed, and is just as bad an auto clicker or any sort of macros. Also, why were people using it in the first place if it wasn't specifically on the list of allowed mods?Posted on 18 June 2014 - 05:04 AM
It is in fact part of vanilla sprinting for your sprint to be re-enabled in mid-air. Why don't you go try it out? Hold the sprint key down. Better sprint is the modification that is different because it doesn't re-enable sprint in mid-air.Posted on 18 June 2014 - 05:47 AM
While this information is nice, it is so hard to stop with the fact that "lag" is a factor in Minecraft, I really cannot block this :(Posted on 18 June 2014 - 05:38 PM

You stop it the same way you stop health indicators, if you see someone using it in a video, and it isn't on the approved mod list, you ban them.Posted on 18 June 2014 - 06:36 PM

Doesn't create particles or improve speed or lessen knockback in Vanilla. It just changes your FOV.

Im half and half, I use it because others do to. I don't want any disadvantages. Sorta like if someone uses kb1 its nooby but they get an advantage. So if it's not nooby and others use it, then why not use it as well.Posted on 19 June 2014 - 01:45 AM
I don't use it because I don't want an advantage over any othersSO I don't use any pvp hud mods
Or BSM or this
only optifine

The mod is fine, redpanda99 has no idea what he is talking about. BSM is bad because your sprint breaks. With 1.7 ctrl sprint and this sprint mod your sprint doesn't break like BSM. This sprint mod just makes you not have to hold ctrlPosted on 19 June 2014 - 04:24 AM

Autoclicking just makes it where you don't have to click
If you can sprint in air, and get particles in air, there's obviously something ill-legit about it
