Possibility of an Asian server
Hello everyone, as most of you can already tell, I am going to discuss about Asian servers. Here's a little background of me. I'm from Singapore and I have been playing badlion since early-mid 2014. I enjoy playing this server a lot even though this is my secondary server.

So here's the thing. I know there are EU, NA and AU servers. On average, here are my connections.

North American: Anywhere from 240-280
European: Anywhere from 300-350
Australian: Anywhere from 330-360

As you can probably tell, I get pretty bad connection to the servers. No, these aren't made up. I am aware that Australia is closer to Singapore than North America and I'm not too sure why my connection isn't as good, however that's the case. I'm sure other Asian players experience the same thing I do, and it's quite annoying to experience the delay.

I know that there aren't a lot of Asian players on Badlion, however Asian player base is still large enough (I believe) to populate 1 server. Those who stay in Western Australia can also play on the Asian servers. What I think Badlion can do is to have a proxy in Singapore. I'm not too sure how proxies work so pardon me if I say/have said something illogical or stupid. Now, I believe it's the best to locate the server in Singapore because Singapore is the connecting location between west Australia and the rest of Asia. I have read statistic reports that nearly all of Asia would get below 120 ping to Singapore servers and it's pretty good.

I know that income may be an issue due to the small player base, which is why I mentioned that setting up 1 proxy is enough. This way I believe the server costs will not increase by too much. This also makes most Asian players more inclined to play on Badlion.

Feedback is always welcomed, but please be respectful in your opinions. Once again, I apologise if I said something wrong in anywhere in the thread. Thank you :)

I feel quite bad for you, and you wrote this post very well, but unfortunately there are not that many players in Asia, and the cost of hosting an Asia proxy would outweigh the profits :(

Sorry but -1 :(

+1 push for it, badlion is a thriving community. I think its time to give players around the world the same experience of fun we all have. Lets face it, 250ms is horrible.

I don't know a lot about hosting and such, but I would suppose that hosting only 1 more server wouldn't be too costly. I would need some information on that though. I am not too sure whether or not there'll be no profits and only losses and nobody will unless the server is actually implemented. Thank you for your reply nonetheless.

Thanks so much, I've been playing as such for over a year now but sometimes it gets beyond annoying to see that my bow shots are so delayed and it can and is gameplay effecting. The best ping I get to a server is 190 ms which is MCGamer. Anybody would want to play on a lower ping server and that's for sure.

+1. Instead of making eu3 and eu4, they should make au2 and asia1.

I just don't think the playerbase is large enough.

+1, not too sure if you can do this but if you can, if the player base isn't large enough for 750 players, maybe make it for ~250-350 players? (depending on how big the asian community is)

Maybe we can attract asian players with it, who knows? However, I think we need to work on establishing a small dedicated Asian playerbase right now and have everything else steady before something like this is added, though

Not all of our players have good internet, most of us get 300+ ping except for US which is 260 for some reason. I actually have a lot of friends playing minecraft, but they dont play badlion due to vpns not being allowed(wtfast). I live in Malaysia and the ping to every region is very laggy. The only region that we don't experience laggy movements is on US. But the delay is still there. I hope this can be thought of

There is deffiently an amount of you Asian players but I don't feel there is enough. If Asia got servers, you may as well create servers for - West Coast of USA, South America, East side of Europe, New Zealand and many other locations. There is a bunch of locations that would benefit from this. I mean, it took a long while to get an AU server out there but it finally happened so don't lose hope.

Why not move Australia's servers to Singapore?

The Australian playerbase is at least 5x larger than the Asian one. I'm pretty sure the New Zeland player base is larger.

The real reason why Asia was denied in the past was due to their ddos protection. Apparently it isn't good enough out there to protect the server.
