Very creative suggestion!
Hello everyone! I have noticed sometimes in game there will be 600 + players in game and NO staff on.
As we know chat, rule breaking, and hacking gets out of hand. So I am proposing an idea I've had for awhile now.
The suggestion is BL REP
BL REP = Badlion Reputation.

My idea proposed it that if NO staff is online the server will automatically pick the player online with the most BL REP to have TRIAL mod perms. This would allow them to mute players in chat and document rule breakers and cheaters.

The way you can get BL rep is quite simply by following the rubric below.

Reporting a player and it being a valid report = + 1 BL REP
Getting + BL REPPED by other staff on your profile (Option feasible by the work of MasterGberry & Archybot)
Making a ban report and it being valid = + 2 BL REP
Being a good Samaritan and getting + repped numerous times on your profile/Guestbook

I know my head gets ahead of me sometimes and there could be some loopholes in the system but I think it could manage.

Here is an example of what I am talking about :

The karma system in ESEA works like this.
If you win a pug or game on esea and majority of your teamamates vote you to be a good person you recieve + Karma.
In the beginning of each PUG the system randomly picks one person from each team with the highest karma to moderate the CT team and the T team. This system works flawlessly and it is so nice to have.

If badlion can duplicate something similar I feel like it can help the community out loads:

EDIT:
Since most people reading this post read with one eye and comprehend with half a brain ill break it down into simple steps.

1. No, the famous people wont get this just because they are famous. You get BL REP by working for it.
2. Some punishments will be unjust, im aware. Thats the way the dice rolls. To work around this. You quite simply make a feature on each rl rep representative profile listing the time they were selected and all the punishments dealt.
3. Yes, it is risky, and yes some people wont be trained completely. However, it is better than nothing at all. With 600 people no staff is unacceptable. Sometimes you need to just take a risk.

This what one of the reasons why I said there could be flaws. Maybe you could only get + rep by other staff members + Repping you and making ban reports/reporting players and it being VALID.

Easy to fix (just add a timer or something that requires them to have played X matches and X time on the server (Or like Combo said, make +rep only obtainable via moderators)), give constructive feedback next time.

+1, seems like a good idea.

That's a really good idea but people might mute others for no reasons and it would just be too difficult to keep track

Hence why the staff team keeps a list of all BL REP representatives and can see each punishment dealt on their own profile, along with the time the punishment was given and how long it was ensued. If the punishment deems to be unjust, the real BL staff can nuke all BL REP from that BL REP REPRESENTATIVE.

This is true, ComboDombo!
But the problem will spawn again.
A lot of people will start getting karma or BL REP and then they can abuse - to ban players without reason, mute players and something like that.
I want this become a real but its have a nasty side that I alredy told.

This would not happen, since all the punishment they dealt would be on their profile under their BL REP section.

-1, Anyone could act as a goodie two shoes just to get these perms, if someone goes on a mute/ban spree it is very hard to unban innocents

If somebody is such a good Samaritan then they can do all of this stuff, get noticed as a helpful player within the community and get mod. Seems unnecessary.

Also during off peak times there would be few players online and people could easily go online and abuse the system to allow for troll mutes

Maybe it could be instead of auto promoting them to moderator, they could have a rep threshold for when people apply for staff.

Pretty fucking dank

Too risky.

The truth of the matter is that we would rather have the server non staffed than have more false mutes on our hands. Since the temp trial would represent badlion, it might hurt badlion's rep as a whole network.

Staff are selected from a wide array of applicants. Those who apply show interest to helping the server and improving the gameplay at badlion. These candidates are also usually trained and undergo training for them to be able to make justified calls and assumptions. As lab said it's too risky.

What if they didn't want the perms
