Hey guys, been getting a lot of conflicting stories and even been getting confused myself on some of the rules for Badlion, rules in relation to blacklisted servers, and rules for special ranks (Youtube, Famous, Twitch). I'm going to be explaining rule changes and answering some common questions. All of these go into effect now unless otherwise noted.

- Global rule 19 has been split up into two rules for clarification - 19 and 29.
Rule 19 now reads - Assisting and/or helping someone evade IP bans will lead to you also getting punished. Examples include, but not limited to: Whitelisting a banned player on UHC, teaming up with a banned player on Arena, talking and/or messaging an evading player when it's clear you know who they are and not reporting it to staff, etc.
Rule 29 reads as - Direct association with an IP banned/blacklisted player may lead to you getting banned. Examples include, but not limited to: Publicly advertising or promoting in benefit of the banned player, assisting banned player in harming Badlion or its community in any way, etc. The final decision/enforcement of this rule is left at only the Owners' decision.

- A new rule has been added in reference to blacklisting servers that only applies to special ranks - Special ranks (Youtube, Twitch, Famous) are not allowed to produce content in any way, shape, or form on blacklisted servers starting on November 5, 2015 (will be stripped of rank and depending on malicious intent, may also be issued in game punishments up to a blanket ban).

- MineHQ and affiliated services have been removed from the blacklist.

Here are some common questions and answers from the last week and this thread:

1. Why did you remove MineHQ from the blacklist?
There has been a decrease in hostility between the Badlion and MineHQ ownership and also have been found to be on the same side in several disputes since the blacklist went active so bridges are being mended. We also feel it isn't fair to the content producers which produce videos on both networks without malicious intent to be caught up in the new blacklist rule, as we share a lot of the same player base in the Potion area of the community.

2. What's with the new blacklisting rule?
We've had a blacklisted network going around recruiting famous players from Badlion in an attempt to maliciously draw away players on several occasions through youtube videos as it was a current loophole in our blacklisted ruleset. This is just remedying the issue. This is in effect for any special rank and any video made on Nov 5 or later. This was specifically made because of one blacklisted player abusing this loophole, so go blame him.

3. I'm a special rank and I do not agree with the new rules, what can I do?
You may contact either Head of Community (Archybot) or a Head of UHC (sluttycow or ABCrabb) and we can remove your rank since we do not want to promote/support content producers that do not care about Badlion's best interests. We care about your channel and viewerbase and if you do not return the favor then we will not help you anymore.

4. Why did you change rule 19?
We saw us using rule 19's second sentence too much and felt it didn't belong with the rest of the rule, so we split it out and made it more definitive so there were less surprises from the player base when we decided to enforce it. The reason only owners can enforce rule 29 is because some cases are not to be handled like other cases, and punishing players for stuff done not on the Badlion Network requires great thought as it can effect Badlion LLC's future.

5. Vortex, why was it blacklisted?
Vortex was blacklisted because the owner (Talekio) hired TwittUHC developers (Asianwiz included) to work on his server. He then proceeds to recruit solely Badlion special ranks to advertise his server which is being ran by a development team from a blacklisted network. When confronted by I (Archybot), he proceeds to lie not once, but twice about AsianWiz and TwittUHC's involvement. Because he purposely recruited services from a blacklisted network, lie about it, and then proceeded to ONLY recruit from the Badlion Skype chats and special ranks, we determined his actions to be with malicious intent towards Badlion LLC, its services, and its community and decided to blacklist it. It had nothing to do with competition with a pay to win factions server.

6. What right do you have to say what people can and cannot do who are special ranks on Badlion?
It's my server, it's my rank. The rank is a privilege, not a right, therefore I make the rules of who gets to have it, who doesn't, and who loses it. If you don't agree to the rules of the rank, don't apply for it.

7. Where are the rules for other stuff?
Rules for offenses such as excessive stalking in UHC, excessive kiting in Arena, and other forms on anti-fun gameplay will be coming soon.

8. You just stripped eight people of their special ranks, why?
I stripped them of their ranks because they were in direct violation of the blacklisting rule "You will not receive any special ranks on Badlion if you are a staff member, official representative, or official partner of a blacklisted server." in relation to a recorded UHC done in partnership with a blacklisted server as representatives of Badlion. We (badlion ownership) did not approve of our network name or logo (which are both trademarked) being used for profit in this case nor did we approve of any players representing our network. This is False Representation and is ILLEGAL by LAW. All players stripped of their rank may appeal to the Special Rank committee (Archybot, sluttycow, and ABCrabb) to determine whether or not you will receive your rank back. If you are not satisfied with your answer you may appeal the decision to the other owner MasterGberry. We may also be taking legal actions against the organizers of the event after consulting our lawyers for False Representation with malicious intent to advertise. We want absolutely nothing to do with blacklisted servers, especially this one in particular.

9. Whoa whoa whoa, Badlion Name and Logo are trademarks? Well what about this person *insert name here*
Yes they are registered trademarks. We however choose to allow everyone to use them unless it is done with malicious intent, even for profit (and we never take profit from content producers). This is one of the main reasons the Special ranks exist, because it's our explicit permission to use these things as long as it is not malicious. Even in case of very small content producers using our stuff, we ask for only one thing - that our IP be somewhere in the video or the description if you are using our server to make yourself money (and sometimes we don't even ask for this). We've never had to file a lawsuit or a DMCA takedown because of this as this is the first time we might ever enforce it.

10. Why are you so serious over a block game server?
Badlion is not just a block game server, it's a registered business that brings in money (Badlion LLC) and has lawyers, accountants, and developers. For example, Woodycraft sues over charge backs exceeding a certain amount, Hypixel just hired a fraud analyst. This is a business and if we don't treat it like one in the background, we'll be thrown around in courts and lawsuits and have to shut down. Your 5 person private minecraft server is a block game server, a server which handles money transactions and approaching 100k+ uniques a day is not just a block game server. Badlion LLC plans on existing after minecraft is over, so it's not "just a block game server."

fuck me you lot take this way to seriously, (i did read point 10) however you lot need to chill out for fuck sake, this game is meant for kids and you lot need to remind yourself of that. I've got so much more to say but I know its not appropriate nor I'm not too sure how to explain it. I understand your concern for your money (chargebacks, fraud ect ect) however the blacklisting of servers and stopping people from recording on the server of their choice is pretty damn pathetic, they are youtubers/streamers and maybe their viewer base is bored of the same old stuff on badlion (dieing to hackers constantly in UHC for example) so they go record on other servers yet you punish them for this. I disagree with this completely and find that your more into this "business" to make money then to actually let kids have some fun on a game .

Of course they shouldn't get a free rank for that.

As the special ranks advertise them. Some of these people are literally famous BECAUSE of badlion, and went through all 3 ranks as they grew because of their rank or other badlion streamers. Then they do this and it's a fucking slap in the face, some of these people I consider friends then they continually do shit like this.

I can see your point, badlion is very easy to become famous on you just have to be good at a specific gamemode, however whilst their channel grew they have advertised a lot for your server surely you cannot expect them to not change it up once in a while? But people like Talekio who are purposely recruiting badlions famous players should be punished as that just isn't right.

Just throwing in my two cents that:

#1 The list of blacklisted servers is very short (considering how many thousands of servers there are)
#2 As Archybot stated some of these players have made their "career" on Badlion.
#3 Advertising a blacklisted server that has slandered and bashed Badlion to the point of lawsuits (which we will pursue if we deem necessary) is completely unacceptable.
#4 All of the people who have had their ranks removed to have a chance to appeal as stated in the post.

The internet is never not going to be toxic. Any attempts at trying to change this are futile and wasted. In fact it has simply become even more toxic and dangerous than when i was younger. The only form of regulation on the internet is the Great Firewall of China. That is the only way the internet is ever going to be truly moderated.

I guess this is why I have poured around 5000 hours of my free time into a project that I did for fun and to allow others to have a fun gaming platform.

If I really cared about this "business" as much as you claim I would have already sold it. It's worth more than it will continue to make on donations anyways.

EDIT: After doing some basic math i realize 5000 is wrong. It's closer to around 8000-9000 hours at this point.

First off, Archybot is the reason the UHC community is so toxic because of his stupid ass rules. I honestly cringe reading this forum post. I understand its your server and all but for fucks sake, you need to chill the fuck out once in a while. You're just trying to delete block game competition, and it is sad. You think Youtubers and Streamers want to play your server 24/7? They don't. No one does. You're server might have the biggest UHC fills but not the best. That's why people go play on the "blacklisted" servers. You need to get over it because everyone is getting sick of it.

So you are telling all the people with special ranks who play UHC (which accounts for many of the special ranks on badlion) that they can no longer play TwittUHC…
