I like to think I'm a reasonable Pvper. 2k build, 1720+ in most others. But god damn do I suck ass at potion PvP.Has anyone got any tips for it? Main things I'm wondering are:
- Should I block hit sometimes when necessary?
- Is toggle sprint a must?
- What and how many debuffs should I have for vanilla and Kohi?
- should I straight line or strafe?
- is double tapping w to re-engage sprint important? (As I can't do it for the life of me)
- is a bow a good item to have, or is that 2 inventory spots that could be filled with healing pots?
Any other good tips would be appreciated. I'm aiming for 1700 global so I need to work on these A LOT if I want to achieve that.

I may not be in the best position to instruct you but I was in exactly the same position as you about a month ago.I'm 1700 on badlion for most pot kits and 1300 on on kohi if that means anything to you
To answer some of your questions:
I would say strafing is better when it comes to pot as once you get to the higher players they will be able to strafe your straigtline easily but mixing it up a bit never hurt anybody
Blockhitting is pretty good to do if you are straightlining someone but if you try it while strafing it usually goes horribly wrong
I have never used toggle sprint so I am not sure but some people using it seem to get crazy combos so can't answer that
Most players bring 2 rounds of debuffs, 2 poison, 2 slowness then maybe 2 weaknesses but the first the pots are definitely the most important
I can't W tap for the life of me but it seems like it works for some people (for me it just does nothing)
A bow (and the arrows) are pretty useless to have and are as you say just taking inventory slots
Debuffs in vanilla and kohi are both INCREDIBLY important! I've seen some 1.9k + players who aren't the best at melee but they hit their debuffs
That just takes practice and you start to develop an instinct as to when to debuff, like you would a lava bucket in build uhc
Something I do in vanilla is to make all my starter buffs (speed, strength, regen, fire res) into splash pots and then ender pearl to the opponent whilst they are still drinking their pots. And either crit them out or debuff them so they have basically lost before they have even begun…
Not everyone does that but it is something I like to do as most vanilla fights are over in the first 15 seconds anyway.
Hope this helps a bit and in terms of pot, practice most certainly makes perfect!

- Blockhitting definitely helps if you know how to time it (don't spam it)- toggle sprint is the same as vanilla sprint, i personally don't use it
- If you're really good with debuffs and you barely miss take 4-5 poisons 1-2slownesses (6 debuffs in total), if you're bad with debuffs then take 3 poisons only or 1 slowness 2 poisons
- straightline if you feel that you can combo him that way, or else strafe the opposite way to the direction your enemy is strafing
- don't double tap w, simply single tap it to reset your sprint
- bows are pretty useless in potpvp
i hope this helped

@appletine do you have a youtube channel? I'd be interested in seeing you play some Kohi matches.Posted on 12 November 2015 - 06:26 PM
