Back a few seasons ago, I tried to get shared accounts illegalized on Badlion because I was at the same spot you're at. I got hit with a good bit of logic from @Morsinius, maybe he can explain it again for you guys. He'd do it better than I would.

"It's not fair, though."You're wrong! Believe it or not, it's perfectly fair. Hivlik wanted me to explain it, but I'm honestly way too tired to but this into paragraph form. I'll summarize the logs into dialogue instead.
Hivlik: Is it against the rules to have multiple players on one account (to gain Elo)?
Morsinius: No. I don't like it too much, but it's not against the rules.
Hivlik: freek says it is.
Morsinius: It is?
Hivlik: Actually, freek says it's unfair. "It should be against the rules but it isn't."
Morsinius: It's not unfair, either. It's an account, so it isn't necessarily associated with one player.
Hivlik: What? Yeah, it is.
Morsinius: Not really—think about it: I can make an account called "TheSmithBros" and have it shared between my brother and I. People do that, you know.
Hivlik: Yeah, but if brother #1 is incredible at bow and bro #2 is incredible at sword, they get high global Elo while neither of them are necessarily high global players. It's unfair to the people who are high global players.
Morsinius: But that's no different than two brothers who are awful. The problem is that you're associating accounts with a person.
Hivlik: Well, but it is. It's not like it's unfair to low global players if an account has 2 bad global players. The whole point of the Elo system is supposed to find the best player, and the global elo is supposed to find the better global player, not the better global account. In a sense, it's Elo manipulation.
Morsinius: We have no such rule that determines that; it's a rating, and that's it. This isn't Elo manipulation because the Elo is won/lost without fixing matches; all that's happening is that the player is changing. We don't care about that. If you want to have it added to rules, take it up with an admin.
Hivlik: Yeah, but that's the point. And yeah, that's what I did; I made a thread/
Morsinius: I don't think it's possible because there are so many players who share them. In fact, a lot of my alts are now shared between friends and family
Hivlik: Yeah, but there's a difference. There are people like TheSmithBros who share an account because they only bought one, and there are people like player1 who have player2, player3, and player4 ranking the account up to a high global rating.
Morsinius: And yet there's no way to determine a difference between them. They're both shared accounts; what happens on them doesn't really matter to me. They're the same in essence.
Hivlik: But the fact that they're manipulating the elo system—abusing the system—it's not fair. In essence, TheSmithBros aren't abusing the system, since they're sharing an account so they can both play.
Morsinius: They're abusing it just as much as anyone else is.
Hivlik: Actually, I guess they're abusing somebody else's system. But player1 is abusing our Elo system, and that shouldn't be allowed.
Morsinius: But so would the TheSmithBros. By your logic, the elo isn't major, so it's okay. Fact is, they're still making slight differences to the supposed Elo they would have if they played separately. They're still manipulating by your standards, and you're basically contradicting your idea. It simply can't happen–there's no way to enforce a rule for this.

This isn't true though– there's nothing in our rules that states this. This is simply an incorrect assumption you've made.

I have nothing to say against this but imo its pretty sad that you let someone to go on your account and get a higher rating that way.
