The server is 1.7 and 1.8 compatible as some people like to play on 1.8 and that's their decision which is fine. But there are LOADS of people that prefer 1.7 more and for that reason, the server is compatible for both versions of Minecraft.I would expect a lot of disagreement if Badlion switched to only 1.8 compatible.

I remember a post way back when, I'll sum it up for you.1.7.x and 1.8.x are very similar in all aspects, there for, the two are able to be played on the same server.
The reason there are not ONLY 1.8 games is because a majority of people play using 1.7 and a 1.8 ONLY gamemode would get very low turn-outs
