Glad you asked. Archer ladder is the only ladder on this server that is mostly skill based.The key to archer is predicting where your opponent is gonna be, and moving yourself unpredictably. Focus on watching what your opponent's movement pattern is before they shoot. Normally, this leads me to aim just to the side of where they are currently standing.
For yourself, as I said, be unpredictable. Change the speed you shoot with. Switch your strafing patterns from back and forth to all one direction, to standing still, depending on how your opponent is shooting at you.
Some things to NEVER do:
1. Don't shoot yourself in the ass. All it does is make you look like an idiot and take damage.
2. Don't jump. If I notice that you jump every single time before you shoot, you've told me exactly where and when I can shoot you in the face next time you press the space bar.
Some thing to ALWAYS do:
1. Close in on you opponent when they are low! If you are at 5 hearts and they are at 1, and you are 50 blocks apart, they could still kill you in 2 shots, and 1 shot from you would be overkill. Close in on them, so that even if you get hit twice and hit them once, the damage will be low enough to kill them and not you.

Never thought about it that way, that will help for sure tho
