I mean I'm 13 and losing to like an 11 year old in tennis is embarrassing, but I know that he/she's been playing much longer than me. It's only fair to assume for this, too. If someone is capable of practicing then no matter their age they have the possibility to be better than any other age. But driving on the other hand, is a different story.
I really wouldn't see it as weird.
