UHC Strategies

Hey guys, ElvenKing here.So I'm sure many of us new players at UHC have been wondering, how do the best of the best players end up in the final 100x100 shrink almost every game they play? I've been in one of these out of the few games I've played with this account and it comes down to discipline and timing for the most part. There are a few strategies I have tried but only a few have actually clicked for me, but other players use other strategies as well that work just as good.
(I'm not sure of the official names of these strategies, I just call them what I like)
DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE STRATEGIES THAT I HAVE OBSERVED, THERE IS NO ONE OP STRATEGY, ADAPT TO THE GAME AND DO WHAT'S BEST
-Iron Rush: I have done this one many times with other accounts as well as watch streamers do this, and it seems to be an effective strategy if done correctly. In this strategy you get just a little wood right away and go caving immediately. You rush to get full iron and hopefully find spiders or get string from a mineshaft for a bow and a fishing rod. After full iron is obtained and maybe a bow and rod, you can go outside and head to 0,0 to get some early kills. Using a bow is usually very important to iron rushing, because if you have little to no healing at all, going melee isn't the best option unless you are willing to trade hits. After successfully getting kills and loot, the rest is up to the player depending on the game.
-Nether Rush: I haven't tried this, but I've seen that many people use it mostly when strength is on. People in this strategy rush to the nether asap so they can get levels and get brewing materials to make speed and strength pots. This can be the safe way to travel into the nether without running into people in the later parts of the game. Once they get back, they have a ton of levels to enchant with as well as the materials to brew potions. If you are lucky enough, this could be a very effective strategy to use.
-Level Grinding: In this strategy, the player spends time mining to get decent gear, then heads to the nether for the sole purpose to get levels, enchant, and combine gear with books to eventually get very op gear. If you are looking for that power 4 flame 2 punch 2 bow or sharp 4 fire aspect 2 sword, this might be the strategy for you. The nether is commonly used for levels by mining the quartz ore, a very common ore that spawns in large veins, giving you easy experience for levels. This is probably one of the best strategies to go by in my opinion if you aren't looking for kills.
-Border Camping: If you are a good PvPer and you end up with good gear from mining, border camping can be a very good idea to do. The most common and dangerous border shrinks for players are the 2000x2000 to the 500x500 shrinks. If you time things correctly, you can camp where the border will shrink and then, when the shrink comes, you can pick off any easy kills or clean up fights between players. If played smart, you can pull off some crazy clean ups and end up with some OP gear to use in the later parts of the game.
-The Every Day player Strategy: Simply get wood, look for apples, mine, enchant, go up, fight. Simple.
Hope this helped you out in UHC! Please give constructive feedback, it helps a lot! No, I am not a hardcore UHC player, but watching others play it, it's pretty easy to tell what works and what doesn't. You don't even need to follow only one of these strategies, you can mash them up and do whatever works for you!
Thanks for reading,

@Gipton as mentioned in my post, I have only started playing with this account recently. Also, I got most of these strategies watching people do UHC. But you are right, I do have much to improve with haha.
