Hotkeys?

I've set up a hotkey on my mouse so when I press one of the programmable keys it switches to slot 4 and I can lava bucket/fns the player. I've been playing like this for maybe a week and have been scrolling through threads to see if this is allowed and haven't gotten a definitive answer. And please don't ban me if it's not allowed. I really didn't know, so sorry in advanced if it's not.Is it allowed to setup a hotkey on your mouse to switch to a slot on your hotbar?
If not, can I bind them to my keyboard?
