Infinite Fishing Rod - Why It Should Not Be Removed
For those of you who don't know, when Season 11 of Arena PvP launches Badlion is removing the infinite fishing rod trick. I have seen some in favor of this but it seems the majority of players (including myself) do not like this. I do not mean to rant on this thread, and I'm not looking to cause trouble. Hopefully whoever reads this actually takes my points into consideration.

Almost every player uses this tactic, and not only on Badlion. Almost every player has grown used to this tactic, and they deserve to be rewarded for using that 1 second to change slots. The infinite fishing rod is almost as old as Minecraft PvP itself. It does not make sense for the most competitive Minecraft PvP server to remove this. Also, it makes it even worse that Badlion is the only server to do this.

Some people argue that people use the fishing rod to break players' armor. This is a legitimate concern, however there is a much better solution than limiting fishing rods (and Badlion has done it already.) That is making the armor unbreakable in applicable Arena PvP kits. (which Badlion has done in Season 11 already)

I hope Archy and GBerry consider these concerns and suggestions. Hopefully the change gets reverted or at least the community can take a vote. If any one is in favor of the change and has a legitimate argument as to why it would be a good change, I would be interested to know your reasoning. Thanks!

"People have abused this glitch forever so therefore it should be allowed"

Well why we don't let hackers on the server because they've been able to "abuse" glitches in the game forever?

If this were a glitch in Badlion I would agree with you. However, this is part of vanilla Minecraft and it is was the entire PvP community knows.

As for the "why not let hackers on the server" argument, that is not a fair analogy. Hackers have an unfair advantage because of their clients. The fishing rod tactic is not an unfair advantage. It takes some skill to switch slots and refresh your fishing rod, and many players have mastered this. It takes zero skill for someone to just download a client and start using kill aura.

well you know its a glitch for a reason and all glitches should be patched if possible and the admins want to and those things are there so it seems it is getting removed

These types of arguments are the dumbest.
Anyone can use the glitch w/ a vanilla client. People can only hack with a special client. Very different @ItsTene

Actually your argument is still fallacious because technically it doesn't matter whether it's a vanilla client or not. Anyone can download a hacked client. That is a special pleading. I recommend you research your terms before you make statements like you just did.

Anyone can download a client yes. However, It is optional. It gives you a advantage. Having a regular vanilla client doesn't give you anything on other players. Anyone can do it stock. That is the difference!

Is it optional to abuse the rod glitch?
