I also don't know why people complain about enderpearls, they're supposed to be used to get away from people or to get to an advantageous spot. Pearling close to players will let you bow spam them, but when you're doing like 1 heart every 4 hits at a close range I don't think anyone would do that?

It doesn't put somebody who wants to bow spam at a disadvantage by making the bow spam shots do little damage, because the other guy's shots do just as little damage, and it's boring as fuck and really dumb

The other guy shouldn't be bow spamming back, if they are then they just suck and don't know the strategy of the ladder. The other guy should be running or pearling away and bowing the guy down.

The pearls aren't at all an issue - I honestly, don't mind the new archer changes. However, I would much prefer a 3 shot kill at long range.Posted on 19 December 2015 - 05:01 AM

Seems reasonable, thank you. In addition, I prefer the distance system in oppose to the damage based of how changed the bow is as it's more about aim and skill than bowspam.

We could also make the bow charge affect damage as well. I brought this point up to MasterGBerry, but he changed my mind. Now that I know of this problem and of the preference to have long range shots deal more damage than they currently deal, this may solve that problem. Could probably change damage to 2.0-2.5x at max charge, 1.0x at medium charge and 0.6x at low charge. This would make long range shots (and medium range shots at full charge) even stronger and nerf bow spamming even more.

Archer at the start of this season was cool, now it's more like 1,5 heart/hit and people start to camp (some new maps are not cool, honestly) when you hit them 4-5 times. Before, they were dead at this moment.Posted on 19 December 2015 - 07:27 AM

Archer shouldn't be a three shot, but it shouldn't be like a six shot either with full distance and full bow charge. Maybe 3 hearts per max range plus fully charged bowPosted on 19 December 2015 - 12:20 PM

After some playing of the archer ladder, I have really come to dislike the current system for these reasons:
> Matches have A LOT more bowspammers now, this is because long range shooting is less effective now. People literally pearl a few blocks away you and spam you.
> It takes a lot less skill to win a match now - long range shots take a lot more skill and practice to achieve and if they're less effective, it makes it a far worse tactic. Most players can get shots from 10-15 blocks away.

Here is the best solution I can think of:
Long range + fully charged = 3.0hp
Long range + half charged = 2.5hp
Long range + limp arrow = 2hp
Short range + fully charged = 1.5hp
Short range + half charged = 1hp
Short range + limp arrow = 0.5hp

Bring back the season 8 kit, that was the best, or at least the most consistent IMO.Also there are a number of problems with this season's ladder:
Is it just me or recently can you only do 2 hearts at a maximum, no matter the distance? Since when did archer turn into a ladder you need to hit between 5 and 15 shots, depending on the distance? At that point it's not really skill based, it's just who can do the epilepsy strafe/pearl and try to just hit as many shots, not caring for strafe.
Maps aren't too good, especially the green hill one and then fountain one.

There was literally no problem with season 10's kit. At the start it was kinda hard to kill campers, but if you take out that kind of map, there's no problem with the ladder at all.Posted on 20 December 2015 - 10:06 AM
