Okay so recently more than ever, ddosing within the community (I'm not sure if NA is like this but EU certainly is) is getting out of hand. People do it whenever they like for whatever reason. It is always between certain "squads" and there is always the one same group of people who are doing it and ruining everybody else's games for their own benefit. I think that there should be a real push against ddosing between the community. I dont know how this will be implemented or anything but it's getting ridiculous now and it's something that shouldn't be taken lightly.Posted on 24 December 2015 - 06:30 PM
Yeah I was just watching Mentally's stream where his teammate got DDoS'd by another team because they apparently "targeted" them. I agree that this has gone too far and is really sad but the truth is that it's hard to detect anyone that's using booters. The only way I could think of is that if it is made really obvious to the point where this would happen constantly to people fighting a specific guy.Posted on 24 December 2015 - 08:00 PM
I must say it's not like it's more common now than in the past. People were just much less open about it.To the point, I don't know how on earth we'd be able to stop something like this.

DDoS isn't just in minecraft. It's everywhere, it's extremely hard to combat and it's just something you can't really stop.I can however make suggestions
Don't make your skype your Minecraft name, don't accept Steam Calls, and lastly, don't do anything to piss anybody off.

Unfortunately, this is the reality of the situation.
The people who are DDoSing aren't reasonable people, and you shouldn't expect to reason with them. If you do try to reason with them, expect to be exploited.
Despite what they themselves may actually believe they think, they generally are immature and suffer from the mentality that the world revolves around them, and that their actions hold no consequences. The most you can do is steer away from this crowd.
This is the sad, but definitely true reality. If somebody is convinced that playing god over somebody is alright, then there's not much any of us can do for them.
Do as Cavasi said; keep your Skype and Steam safe. Don't share your social media. Don't go out of your way to tick somebody off.
Most of these people don't need justification to hit you offline, and the ones that do are undoubtedly self righteous. It's ultimately your choice who you associate yourself with, and as a result, how your online experience goes.

Why shouldn't you accept steam calls? Can they get your IP through that or something?

VPNs and proxifier are the way forward. Free VPNs don't really help either. Proxifier allows you to chose what programs use as their connection point.Posted on 25 December 2015 - 12:07 PM
So should Badlion allow users to use a VPN?Posted on 25 December 2015 - 12:12 PM
Unfortunately, if you have enough people you can take down anything, even if they had a very good DDoS protection.Last edited on 25 December 2015 - 12:13 PM by torace

It also adds useless latency to your connection because it has to travel through another server.

You could also ask your ISP to give you an IP which changes whenever your router is turned off. It is either called Dynamic or Static. This is a minor defensive tactic, sometimes works and sometimes not.Last edited on 25 December 2015 - 01:12 PM by frogmike
This is also a tabooed subject on the forums.Edit: (Not allowed)
