the logic isn't exactly flawed, many shootings have been stopped by people who have carry permits.

I'm proud that the UK has very low gun related deaths. Because If there are no guns in the first place, there is no need to get a gun to protect yourself

This is why the gun problem in the US is so difficult to control, because you simply can't get rid of or ban firearms because there are just too many around. In my opinion, Obama's new gun laws are going to help with this, along with people who carry in order to protect themselves.
