I hear a lot about butterfly clicking… but what is it?Posted on 10 January 2016 - 12:27 PM
Clicking with two fingers on one mouse button. It gives illegitimate clicks, making it unfair.Posted on 10 January 2016 - 12:32 PM

Honestly, I've been butterflying all the time, except when I play on badlion (solely because I am simply afraid to get false banned). However, this is as of the first time I heard about that this way of clicking was disallowed. Before that, I used to butterfly on badlion and did not seem to be having any issues except some of my friends, who I know for sure not to ever cheat, getting banned. My click rate while butterflying is around 7-11 cps however my aim with this technique is very accurate; this combined along with a variety of pvp techniques (such as pre-pot, w-tap, etc.) makes me a good player. About the fact, that some people say that they get "20 cps with butterfly clicking" is complete bs, in a very extreme case, it could possibly be a peak, but there is no talk about "consistency" here (as in getting avg. 20 cps constantly).With full honesty and many attempts to prove it, I say that I have never used and will never use any modifications to the game I play or the gear I use to play the game in order to give me an unfair advantage over other players or will violate the server rules, but I wish to advise to the developers to seriously look into this issue because this is solely the reason keeping me away from badlion.
Rex.

@BadwareI'm sorry, but LOOOOOOOL.
First of all, your click registration is far from normal. I butterfly WAY faster then you judging from the actual tap sounds that I get from my mouse. Check this video for example of my clicking while I pvp. Note, in the video I am getting around 7-12 cps as this video tap rate seems close to the one on the first video of your reply. Pay extra attention to the click sounds of my mouse.

It's more technique than actual speed. Take it from me, I've been doing this since 2013. Anybody can smash their mouse and get 12 cps, few can click in a way to bounce the hammer off the switch.
Here is my appeal if you think that I am faking anything: https://www.badlion.net/appeal/thread/15501
Edit - watched your video. The way you click is very different than I click. When I click like you (with the tips of my fingers), I get about 10 cps. You have to use straight fingers to get it to bounce in the right way.

@BadwarePerhaps, see I can't really tell because a, my fingers can't both fit on a single button at the same time and b, even if I tried to squeeze them somehow (lmao), it would be pointless to click (meaning even less cps) because of the hardness to click of the button.
From what I can conclude, also in oppose to reviewing your appeal for that ban, my clicking technique evades the reason "Unfair advantage" because my click rate is of an average jitter-clicker, my aim is decent/good and, most importantly, I go around the problem of hand aches that many jitterers get.

Yeah you're exactly right - I never liked jitter clicking, just seemed like over complication of a simple matter…

@BadwareI think I might have a reason, that may justify the "Unfair Advantage" bans on badlion & why they disallow butterfly clicking. Going to make a video about this, should be out within a day or two. I'll come back to this thread.
