Please make your maps more FPS friendly.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that experiences lag on ArenaPvP maps. That's also illogical, because my computer* is powerful enough to run other servers' 1v1 maps (Kohi) with ease. Why is it that Badlion's maps lag me so much?

You're putting too much detail into them. I get that you're making them detailed for aesthetic purposes rather than to just mindlessly make your players lag out of the evil in your hearts, but that's the problem. A PvP server for honing your skills as this one is should focus on providing the best gameplay experience for players, rather than the best visual experience. Players with bad computers should not be placed in a disadvantaged situation because of something so silly, when you realise that this is a PvP server. If you want aesthetics, go on a building server or SMP.

I can understand that some maps are designed to have dimension with hills and such for variety in the playstyles that players can adopt. I'm not talking about that stuff. I get that. What I don't get is the unnecessary detail added that reduces your FPS for no real reason other than looks.

For a little comparison to tell you what I'm talking about, on Kohi my FPS is 400-500 idling (not moving), and 200-500 moving and PvPing. On Badlion, I only manage 200 at max idling and even as little as 50 when PvPing. Not to mention, tangible inconsistency on Badlion's maps are a lot worse than it is on Kohi's.

The last thing I'd like to come off on this thread as is a pro-Kohi activist or whatever you want to call it. I think where Badlion lacks, its community and the state of legitimacy among the players is a lot better than it is on Kohi. However, I am saying that Badlion is ignoring the fact that maps for PvP should be simple and should offer as much of a lag-free experience as possible.

tl;dr your maps are too detailed causing unnecessarily low fps for players with bad computers who are struggling to get decent fps outside of badlion already and even lag people with good computers. plz fix.

*I'm running an i5-4670k processor, tricked out HD 7950 graphics card and 8GB of RAM dedicated to Minecraft, for reference.

+1, I get 60 fps on the BuildUHC maps and literally 20 on most SG/Iron/Diamond maps. Please fix this. @HalfCreeper

Players with bad computers will always be placed in a disadvantaged situation

You do realize that there is literally no difference between 200 and 500 fps on modern monitors, the cap on the top of the line monitors is 144. Frankly if you didn't know this, your monitor is probably set at 60hz so 60fps is the highest it will go and still make a difference. You are complaining about nothing.

Yes, but there's no good to come of disadvantaging players even more than they already would be, laggy maps aside. Again, you should be trying to improve the gameplay experience for everyone, not improving the visual experience for those who can run the maps at comfortable framerates which screws over the people who can't.

You're missing the point. I'm saying that something has to be wrong with Badlion's maps if on Kohi maps I get twice the amount of frames. I can only imagine that the effect on players with less powerful PCs is a lot more severe, if my computer which gets very comfortable FPS on other server starts to get 1/2 that amount on Badlion. If my normal frames are 300-500 FPS, halving that will get me 150-250 FPS. Not that bad, but now think of someone got 60FPS normally, and if Badlion's maps halve their FPS, they get 30.

Also: I have a 144hz monitor, top of the line monitors can go up to 165hz now.

Not gonna brag here or anything, but I always get from 300 to 4000 FPS on Badlion, 240 is fine though

The reason for this could be that arenas are closer together on Badlion than on Kohi (with the exception of BuildUHC/Skywars). I'll see if there something we can do to prevent FPS drops for some players next season.

I get that on every server stop being spoilt. 50 fps is perfectly fine. A lot of people will be happy PvPing with even 40 fps

He is not complaining about nothing. I knew this would come up.

Just because you have a 60 Hz monitor DOES NOT mean that anything over 60 frames per second is useless, because that is very false.
The higher framerate, the more pictures your monitor can potentially display, resulting in a smoother experience.

Although he uses CS:GO as an example, it applies for almost all games, 3kliksphillip did a great job explaining this here:

Go to about 1:50 to see what I'm talking about

At 60hz your monitor is only refreshing the display 60 times a second, limiting it to 60fps, that is why screen tearing occurs on higher fps than you monitor can properly display @Cavasi

@everyone saying i'm whining about nothing

Call me a stuck up rich boy for complaining when I get less than my normal FPS, but when you're used to such smoothness, it feels way different playing on low FPS. Try playing on 400-500 FPS for a year or two and then try playing on a mediocre laptop. You're going to be garbage and it's not going to feel normal. When I join a PvP practice server with the main focus of presenting the best environment to people to improve in, I expect that I should not have to deal with bad FPS caused by over-detailed maps or anything else that needlessly lowers FPS.

The real problem with this FPS stuff for me is that it causes my mouse's sensitivity to spike out of control. Weird, I know. I'm already forced to use 125hz polling rate as opposed to 1000hz so that my mouse doesn't become ridiculously uncontrollable, which causes it to be slower to register when I try to turn it. When I'm getting BAD INCONSISTENCY NOT BAD FPS my mouse's movements become very erratic and snappy. It's like a programmed sensitivity switch on a mouse that turns your DPI to the highest it can possibly get (10000 for me) but it's triggered without warning whenever your FPS decides it doesn't want to cooperate.

@everyone acting like they only get 2 fps

Don't whine and complain when I'm trying to do something that will HELP you. Part of my reason behind making this thread was a) to sort out performance issues on my end but also b) to prevent the same kind of thing happening to people where the effects will be much more profound. Be grateful I've brought this up.
