I didn't know you had 150ms lol I thought you were another kid complaining about having 50ms :p ofc 150ms is hard to play with, so you have a pointPosted on 24 January 2016 - 01:45 PM

yea I average about 100-150
Even though in my server list it says its 20-30, it sure doesn't feel that smooth. I have also done the ping command in the command prompt window and it gives me about 20ish ping. I wouldn't have this problem if I got that and I wish I did.

You know, I think there's something people haven't figured about internet, and I'm not too sure either, but I have these days where I can fight just normally, and destroy everyone without even having to try, and I can get elo such as 2200. Other days when my internet is weird (WITH THE SAME EXACT PING), I get 10 blocked and cant even manage 1700 elo. I'm looking into this but I think this might be many people's problems. It's weird how my internet could affect my PvP so much but it really does without my ping even changing. Not really sure.Posted on 25 January 2016 - 11:51 AM

That is what happened to me. I was able to push up to 1920 without losing a fight for a loooong time
Then over the course of a few days, I am back down to 1740. I could barely win a fight, even against some 1400-1500 hundreds. When I got up to 1920 I was beating anyone and everyone no matter what elo they had.

Yes, it's a bit odd that this happens and I think it might be a better answer than just ping considering ping really doesn't affect gameplay as much as people think it does. I really think the answer is just bad internet to be honest.

That sucks :/
I'm a bit luckier with ~60 so I'll pretty much always make the second tick (which is fine, only 1/20th of a second lol)

Ping doesn't matter. Period. You're only better with a certain ping because that's what you're used to. I've gotten absolutely destroyed (and vice versa) by people who have 10 ping, and people who have a literal 500 ping (I'm not kidding there was a kid I kept fighting in diamond a while ago and he literally had 5 second delayed kb he beat me every time)Posted on 27 January 2016 - 10:23 PM

Ping, to me, is just about what you're accustomed to and your playstyle. I have 80 ping to na and 30 to naw, and I prefer na for most ladders because the slight delay helps my time my combos better. With lower ping I notice myself getting more double hits and more hits that appear "longer" but I also take kb more promptly (giving me the illusion of taking more kb) and get comboed much more easily.I will admit, I do find anything over 150 unplayable and anything 100-150 very difficult to deal with. I'm pretty bad at playing with high ping, and those of you who do and still manage to be gods have my respect.

Is there any good way to test my ping? I don't really know any good "reliable" way to do so.
