I'm not saying if ping > 200 then disallow ladder join, I'm saying is somebody is dropping packets and spiking really hard, then there should be a preventative. It's not enjoyable to fight somebody who just skips around the whole match - I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about.Let me draw you a scenario.
Bob has 40-50 ms average and a packet loss of about 1%. If when Bob joins a queue and is getting 150-200 ms average and a packet loss of 30%, then maybe kick him off of the queue until his network stabilizes.
Bob moved to Pluto and now has 150-175 ms average and a packet loss of 3%. If when Bob joins a queue and is getting his average 150-175 ms with a packet loss of 3%, then allow him to join because he wouldn't be lagging around everywhere.
Obviously this wouldn't stop people who start lagging midfight, but it would filter out a lot of the people who maybe don't realize that they're teleporting and make our Badlion experience overall a lot more enjoyable.

If I understand correctly, if Bob has 300ms but 0% packet loss, he doesn't get kicked?Last edited on 03 February 2016 - 08:06 PM by Badware

Nah, that's unfair for de laggers.EDIT: Actually, it's unfair to us to fight the laggers. +1

-1 You're preventing a player from participating in a huge part of Badlion. You'd be making their "Badlion experience" a lot more unenjoyable.I think it'd be better to match up lagging players against other lagging players, if available. Basically keep a lagger in the queue longer in case another lagger comes along, but if it's been too long (15-20 seconds) just match them up anyway.

I understand where you're coming from in that players would not be able to participate, but what I'm trying to avoid is a fight where neither player has fun because one sees this:
and the other sees this:
