Ok we are turning to the public to try and identify the last major lag issue on ArenaPvP. For those of you who are not aware, the ArenaPvP plugin was originally redesigned 15 months ago. It was originally known as PotPvP and then relabeled to ArenaPvP later when SoupPvP was integrated into it. There have been a lot of issues with the plugin since it was reworked, but for the most part it was way smoother and easier to add new features to than BadlionPvP 2.0 (which is now 32 months old).The actual lag cause
The actual lag cause is related to an arena resetting after certain match types. The arena bugs out and sends up to 100k chunk updates to the server instead of the usual 20-50 that it should. When these 100k chunk updates happen the server goes haywire and lags for several seconds. The # of players on the server does not affect the severity of the lag spike, but it does obviously happen more often with more players on (since more people get bugged out).

Information about the issue
Ok you guys are gonna help me brainstorm because at this point you know the ArenaPvP server better than I even do myself. We have identified the main source of lag. It relates to kits such as BuildUHC, SkyWars, and Spleef where you can break blocks (other kits might have the same issue, but they don't cause the massive lag spikes). Somehow or another a player is in a 1v1 or a party match (can happen in both [.i think]) is breaking blocks outside of the arena. At first we thought maybe there was some error in the arena tracking….but there does not seem to ever be any issues with that (we verified it already). In what scenarios can you somehow end up in spawn in survival mode (spectator mode is not the issue, we checked that too) or somewhere else in survival mode and still be in a match with yourself or the party and attempt to break a block?
When a match ends (1v1) i believe the person who wins floats for a few seconds and then gets teleported to spawn. The person who dies then has to respawn and gets teleported
to spawn (either immediately or very quickly after). When you have a pary match you go into spectator mode while the match is still going on after you respawn. Otherwise you eventually get teleported to spawn as well.
Can anyone think of some edge case where you can end up somewhere you shouldn't be in survival mode and can attempt to break blocks (GGuard stops you, but still trying to figure out the edge case).
Only theory so far (provided by WhatTheFork)
He claims that sometimes you get glitched into a match even though you won (for instance ranked 1v1). You are playing, you kill the opponent, you get teleported to spawn but you never get a message saying you won/got elo etc. Then you queue up for another match and you randomly get teleported in the middle of your following match (or later match) back to spawn because your previous match that never officially ended timed out (the time limit was reached). Sometimes also the opponent is stuck in the arena and get's tired of waiting and then just leaves and the match officially ends as well.
If you can figure out how to reproduce the situation WhatTheFork mentioned above I will give you the same reward as mentioned above. This bug that WhatTheFork has described might be the actual issue causing the other issues described above.
How to report the issue properly
I don't want someone to just say "Oh I did it…" that's not going to help me. I want someone to provide a step by step guide on how to reproduce the situation. Preferably with video evidence to show how to reproduce it if possible.
Thanks to anyone who can help us to debug and fix this last major ArenaPvP issue so that we can get rid of these terrible long lag spikes finally.
EDIT: Because people are not understanding this post. I am NOT asking for theories about what the lag issue is. We know exactly what it is. The question is how to REPRODUCE it. Where you seem to be in two matches at once or something of the sort.

Ya boy LostAge feels like there is a lot less lag on the na3 potpvp then na1 potpvp. And I'm guessing that is because of the amount of players. You guys can try it yourself the kb feels a bit better and the server feels a bit smoother. I think it would've been fine with the 750 cap..Last edited on 06 February 2016 - 12:18 PM by RealSportsFan

This is when it happens to me. It happens when I was previously logged into a server (take a Hypixel for instance) and I log off of that and onto Badlion. It is almost as if I'm logged onto both servers at the same time, and I can see the chat from both Hypixel and Badlion. If I enter a match, I'll have things from Hypixel and badlion in my inventory, and then I can do the things u described in the thread.Posted on 06 February 2016 - 12:25 PM

I dont know how to replicate it, but I have had the scenario WhatTheFork discribed happen to me a couple times, where I was the one still in the arena with the opponent not there, and where I was the one who was not in the arena (I only know this because my opponent messaged me a while after the match to ask where I went), but I don't recall anything out of the ordinary happen to me after the match. It happened in tank ladder I think both times. These happened either last season or the season previous to that, so I don't exactly remember all the details clearly.Posted on 06 February 2016 - 12:32 PM

As far as the bucket thing, we have verified it's a client side issue.
There is nothing we can do about it.
