What I think it is is something to do with the mods and clients people are using and the amount the server has to handle. The server can't keep up with the load it has to do like the data for the anti=cheat and stuff. I obviously don't know because I don't know the plugins or anything but I believe the server needs more ram and less plugins. Also, there might be multiple fights ending at the same time which causes lag because maybe the reset of an arena makes it crash for a while but everything processes afterwards. Experiment with the plugins and test it out so try removing the anti-cheat plugin off for a day and see if there is lag. Try removing other plugins as well and see what happens. Also, it could be the amount of people trying to join because ever since it was increased to 1000 people it started to occur less (this may just be a coincidence). Anyway, if I this is it, then I was happy to help badlion and improve the server to make it more enjoyable.Posted on 06 February 2016 - 03:12 PM
Last edited on 06 February 2016 - 05:16 PM by MasterGberry Ok we are turning to the public to try and identify the last major lag issue on ArenaPvP. For those of you who are not aware, the ArenaPvP plugin was originally redesigned 15 months ago. It was originally known as PotPvP and then relabeled to ArenaPvP later when SoupPvP was integrated into it. There have been a lot of issues with the plugin since it was reworked, but for the most part it was way smoother and easier to add new features to than BadlionPvP 2.0 (which is now 32 months old). The actual lag cause
"The actual lag cause is related to an arena resetting after certain match types. The arena bugs out and sends up to 100k chunk updates to the server instead of the usual 20-50 that it should. When these 100k chunk updates happen the server goes haywire and lags for several seconds. The # of players on the server does not affect the severity of the lag spike, but it does obviously happen more often with more players on (since more people get bugged out). " I aint really good at this stuff but how about you limit the chunks to 50-60 so it cant happen

Okay I have a theory but I don't know where it can lead or have to do with this at all. I personally think it may have to do with the transition of being in a match then going to spawn. So like for example when you lose a match you are at the "You Died!" screen or whatever it is, but right when you click respawn you get tp'ed back to spawn. When you win the fight it is different. You win the fight but you don't get instantly tp'ed to spawn. It changes your gamemode to creative and then a few seconds later it teleports you to spawn. I really don't know much about servers and specifically about this topic but I think it might help. In the video it shows me in two fights. One of which I can't break blocks right after I win the fight. In the other clip you see I can break blocks and I broke two blocks. I think maybe you should make it so that right after you win a fight you just go into god mode and in adventure mode or just teleport you to spawn. Maybe this will help you guys with the issue and help others with trying to figure it out. Thanks for the read! :DLast edited on 06 February 2016 - 03:49 PM by WhatDefinesYou

no, you don't know what the problem is, and it's definitely not this.
MasterGberry, I think the guy above me, Cho, is on to something. Why is it different?

If you have bad ping or lag
and you lava yourself before a ./spawn registers
https://gyazo.com/da556383d027121bbb025ce08c8aa243
It registers as two losses and it throws all the matches and stuff off
Order:
You ./spawn
You lava yourself and die
You have bad ping so your ./spawn registers now
It registers both your death and the ./spawn so you die twice throwing stuff off. This is how Fork's theory happens.
Forever after that, that mans' opponents are glitched

Sorry Mgberry. I can't record :(
If I do win though, can I get it on this account?
thanks
Also @ForkoSporko I watched the ginger elo video a couple of times and figured out how to duplicate this glitch you talked about. Thoughts?
I'll test it out in a bit.
I wouldn't be surprised if this were it…most of the issues we have had on Badlion (bug wise) are due to race conditions in Minecraft/latency.

I'm on it, I don't really see the problem causing it, maybe not enough ram on the server?Posted on 06 February 2016 - 05:17 PM

skip to 20:00 and you can see someone dying idk how but maybe it has something to do with the lag
No its when you lag out/log out in game and then you log back in

I think this is great idea to stop lag.Posted on 06 February 2016 - 05:54 PM
Maybe the server is lagging because DARUDE LAGSTORMPosted on 06 February 2016 - 06:03 PM
When you are fighting and you kill someone, it should instantly send you to spectator instead of making you have to click respawn. Sometimes if you log out after you died and you log back in. You spawn in the same arena you died in and people in that match fighting see your body
