Recruiting the public's help for ArenaPvP Lag
It might have something to do with the proxy because when I used my iphone hotspot to connect to the server, there was no lag.

I don't 'really know that much about programming and stuff but maybe u should add seperate servers that are dedicated to arena PvP maps only and when a player match is over, the players both get teleported instantly to the arena PvP lobby. Also maybe u should limit the amount of maps, players would have to wait to get into a match but it might reduce lag.
Don't judge my theory because idk how to explain properly.



Or maybe badlion should add command blocks where whenever a player died the command blocks will use /tp (player) (coords to spawn). Also badlion could also do this: So when ever a player is at spawn they should be in gamemode 3. But idk anything to do with programming .

It registers as two losses and it throws all the matches and stuff off
Order:
You ./spawn
You lava yourself and die
You have bad ping so your ./spawn registers now
It registers both your death and the ./spawn so you die twice throwing stuff off. This is how Fork's theory happens.

Also @ForkoSporko I watched the ginger elo video a couple of times and figured out how to duplicate this glitch you talked about. Thoughts?


@ty_rex222 I was able to reproduce the double match link bug (this is also what causes there to be a negative number of players in a queue), but I was unable to cause any other bugs from this bug. Looking through the code, I don't think this would even cause any other bugs even though the match ends twice.

@ty_rex222 What time did the actual bug occur? When I was testing it with killing myself with lava and /spawn'ing, both players got teleported to spawn normally and I could play matches fine on both players against a third separate player.

Lemme make this simple by using the vid.
The DolnphinBeef guy ./spawns and dies to give Ginger 2 wins. 17:33
The win registers late, so Ginger goes to spawn in his next match. 18:00
Ginger's opponents are glitched in the arena, in survival, where they can break blocks until they ./spawn, so ginger wins the next match, thus the cycle continues. 20:59

The trigger is the bug I pointed out earlier. It gives somebody a double win that registers late(sometimes or all the time, not sure)
If the person who got the two wins keeps playing matches, the late win will interrupt the match.
This will leave a guy left in an arena, in survival, where he can break blocks.
When he ./spawns, he interrupts the next match.
The cycle continues.

These cases seem to be the exact same bug. They cause state of being able to break blocks and being in survival. In one case however, there is a delay which basically forces 5 people(or however many) into this glitched state. Imagine a server with 1000 people. If this bug occurs, there could be from 1-50 people in this glitched state. The issue is how does a double loss/win occur seperately.

@ty_rex222 I see what you're saying now. The thing is that I'm not able to reproduce a scenario where the 2nd win is delayed, I always get both wins at the same time and both players teleport to spawn normally. I wait a while and there's no (third) match that ends because of a time limit (because I already got the two wins).

Edit: Just read your above post, you're saying that the delay is attributed to general server load?

No. I'm saying that if a delay does occur, a lot of people will be glitched.

Obviously there are many problems with the lag. But there are solutions.

1. Set a timer to kick ALL Idol players after 5-10 minutes. That will up the latency.

2. Remove the kits that are causing the lag. Although BuildUHC is the most popular kit, it may be the only way

3. Spread the players onto multiple servers with different hosts. This may not be the most viable option but again, it may be the only way.

4. Lower the player count on each server (NAE1, NAE2, etc.) This should lower the chunk updates because less matches are being played and less arenas are being used.



That's all that I could think of but I will continue to think on it. Thank you.

Confirmed this is a bug. We have gone ahead and patched it. This might be leading to the overall issue but we have not been able to reproduce the exact scenario at the moment. Waiting to see if this fix solves the overall issue. The fix is now live on NA 3 (and will be live on the other servers over time).

I won 3 matches but the rating messages didn't load, the data was glitching for everyone then, I guess

and when I tried to invite someone to my party I got the message saying: "Please contact an admin" and so on

not sure if this even helps

Alright so first off I'm saying that this is just a random guess and I don't expect it to be this, but there is this "visual glitch" that occurs when you stay afk in the respawn screen after a builduhc match, where if you come back after being afk for a while you see about a million fishing lines from fishing rods around you. This might mean that these fishing lines are registered in some way maybe? How to recreate the glitch: go afk for about half an hour in the respawn menu screen after you die in a buildUHC match.
