Yes I posted this in the donator section on accident, I think I should share with the whole community though.



Hello Everyone!

I have been scrolling through the forums a lot lately and have noticed player's Minecraft accounts getting stolen or "hacked". The thought of this happening to me or anyone makes me sick to my stomach, so today I am going to share a few things that I think everyone should do to prevent this from happening!

Allot of times you will be in a Lobby or server on Badlion and receive a message from a player that you don't know saying some of the following things:

1. "Get FREE Badlion Lion just by doing (something)"

2. "Join Badlion's new Hub servers to test out new games! IP: (FAKE IP)"

3. "Get free Optifine/Minecon capes here: (fake link)

If you see one of these messages and do what they tell you to, the email and password to your account will be changed and you are unable to access your account!

If you see one of these messages HELP THE COMMUNITY, make sure you take these steps:

You can always just do /report in game, that is easier.

1. Take a screenshot of the message in game by pressing F2 (If you use Lightshot or another 3rd party screenshot software make sure you cover your entire screen otherwise the report won't be accepted.)

2. Type /ignore (Player's Name) (This will prevent you from receiving any more messages from this user.)

3. Locate your screenshot that you took in step one and make sure you have that on hand.

Windows:
Go to the start menu on the bottom left corner of your screen type in the search box%appdata% (This will be located on a different section of your computer depending on what version of windows you are running) then hit enter. That will open the Roaming Folder that will contain another folder that will say ".minecraft" on it, Click that. Then hit the folder that says "screenshots" and you should find your screenshot in that folder.

Mac:
To find your screenshot on a Mac you will need to got to "Finder" which you can locate in "Launchpad" then press Shift+Cmd+G and type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft in the box and hit "Go" then you hit the folder that says "screenshots" I don't use a Mac so for video tutorial click this:



Linux

4. Go to www.imgur.com and upload the screenshot by clicking the "Upload Images" button in the top center, once the image has successfully uploaded to Imgur, copy the link in the top search box.

5. Go to the Badlion reports page.

6. Go to and select the "Post New Thread" button in the top or bottom right corner.

7. Copy and paste this into the body of your thread:


Ign:

Accused Person:

Server:

Crime(s) Committed:

Evidence:

Date of Evidence(Optional But Helpful):

Witnesses(Optional But Helpful):



8. Fill it out and Hit "Post Thread" in the bottom left corner of your screen!

And thats it!

Alternative: if you have a Helper or Mod in game, you can simply report it to them.

Protect Your Account: Hide
1. Make sure you have a good password containing numbers and capitals.
2. If your account is not already migrated, migrate it!
3. If you ever accidentally do something that the message told you to Change your password immediately!
4. NEVER enter your account information into any website other than minecraft.net or mojang.com
5. Have good security questions on Mojang so if someone does log in, they can't change anything.

Also if you getted on skype by any fake people claiming to be staff members, please just report it so we can deal with it accordingly. Badlion will never ask you via skype for your minecraft details or anything private.

ppl have been saying Dantehs 32x pack that was leaked has a thing in it that can steal passwords. idk how a resource pack can but anyway
