I've been noticing many ppl getting banned for what they claim to be "butterfly clicking". This is complete bs and you don't get gcheated if u butterfly click. I get 12 cps jitter clicking and 15 w butterfly clicking and i butterfly click all the time without gcheat banning me.So i don't understand why it isn't allowed if it doesn't harm anyone in anyway.Posted on 11 February 2016 - 01:39 PM

I personally don't even care if people say they are butterfly clicking. If gcheat bans them it's their own fault though. That doesn't take away that by far most people who claim to be GCheated by butterfly clicked actually cheated, but lie about it to get unbanned and, above all, not lose status.

There are only benefits with butterfly clicking if you're good at it, I personally get 8-10 cps jitter and 4 cps butterfly, I just can't butterfly.Posted on 11 February 2016 - 02:58 PM

Butterfly clicking can trigger the system to think you are double clicking to put it in an easy way. It is all in pattern detection so I wouldn't do it since you'll most likely be banned.Posted on 11 February 2016 - 09:38 PM

Regardless of if its a 'bug' or 'manufacturing flaw', the same effect applies that being that when you butterfly click in certain cases you could possibly be double clicking. For this reason, its disallowed. Does the exactness of what causes these double clicks matter that much to the fact that it's disallowed? No.

Well, not exactly. The way that Hivlik describes it is that double clicking actually creates click packets inside the JVM, and it clicks once + 2 more times as a software bug. That's misinformation, and makes Butterfly clicking seems way worse than it is. The fact that it's a manufacturing bug in literally every gaming and non-gaming mouse I've tried (excluding trackpads) makes it universal and doable for everyone, just like jitterclicking.
But seriously, I don't really care, I don't even play Badlion. Just make sure that what you're posting next time is verified.
Oh, and yeah, what causes the double clicks does matter. Ask Kohi, they don't ban for Bclicking - prplz disabled some checks because of it.

You and I have already had this conversation before, but I'll say it again: whether it's a hardware or software bug, it shouldn't matter - you're still not clicking for every time Minecraft gets a click. That's why, as far as I can see, it shouldn't be allowed. At this point in the discussion, it comes down much more to an opinion-based argument, so it's entirely reasonable for the two of us to disagree without either one of us necessarily being wrong - just like badlion and kohi can have different rules on the matter without either server being objectively incorrect on the matter.
