http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/gallery/no/987.gifNot excatly, I know alot of good pvper that use 1.8…
Just because they removed' the block hitting animation doesn't mean it's shit.
That's one of the main reasons people don't play with it.
1.7 might get good hit detection, and pretty much better hits, doesn't mean 1.8 doesn't.
ALOT of people use 1.8 for FPS, and fixed bugs, and just in general.

Well it really depends what you play. For Kohi, 1.7 is prefered over 1.8 for obvious reasons, because the skill gap is definitely lowered, but 1.8 vs 1.8 in Kohi isn't THAT bad even though it's still not that good either lol. Also, OCN and UHC are both pretty fun with 1.8, and melee actually isn't that bad, considering in non speed 1.8, there still is some skill involved in melee. Also, bowing is a lot more easier in 1.8 so yeah. Some things in 1.9 I don't particularly like, but I'm sure a lot of things will be fixed soon and might be pretty fun with some gamemodes.

I've tried 1.8, and the only thing that makes it playable is labymod. The flashing hearts prevent an accurate read on your health, the enchanting glow is definitely worse than in 1.7, potion throwing animations are terrible, etc. I can see OCN / MCSG / UHC players using 1.8 because they probably also play 1.8 only servers or single player, but if you go on Kohi you will be hard pressed to find any good (1600+) player that uses 1.8.Posted on 03 March 2016 - 02:02 AM

1.8 completely ruined OCN imo

Well considering 1.8 gives you an extremely bad disadvantage, I don't think there would be anyone 1600+ using 1.8 on Kohi.
