Butterfly Clicking

I've just stated that clicks per second might seem to be the issue, but there are multiple different threads that show the STAFF of Badlion admitting that higher CPS doesn't make you better. In which case, why aren't auto-clickers set to 100 CPS allowed? I don't actually want this allowed, I understand its advantages, but I'm sure at least one person has thought this before, too.

Badlion staff aren't Minecraft experts and they can definitely be wrong too. Obviously clicking faster gains an advantage, more so when doing it consistently. The point though is that people who install double-clickers or anything of the sort have the intention to cheat. That alone is ban worthy.

GCheat can conflict with butterfly clickers, but changing GCheat to account for that takes a lot of effort and it means more cheaters will get away. Instead of changing GCheat we disallowed the act of butterfly clicking for numerous reasons. Here's two of them:
  • Many mice glitch out and double-click unintentionally. The reason GCheat autobans is because when you butterfly click in a certain way, the hammer part of the mouse bounces off of the switch making it click twice. It's a manufacturing flaw and has nothing to do with networking packets / minecraft in general. There are multiple videos which cover this.
  • Using multiple fingers to click is simply a cheaty way to click. We banned using multiple fingers for multiple buttons, and we also banned it for 1 button. That doesn't sound weird does it? With butterfly clicking you can simply multiply your clicking speed with barely any extra effort. This decreases the skill cap, and if anything that should increase in this game. The general policy is 1 click 1 button 1 finger.
(People also indeed use two fingers to 'stabilize' their jitterclicking, but since you are using the 2nd finger as a support for your 1st finger instead of actually clicking with it, we allow it.)

Despite these reasons, at this moment butterfly clicking is pretty much an unenforced rule. If you admit to butterfly clicking I will not ban you, though if GCheat gets you I will not unban you. This mainly for the high amount of people who use butterfly clicking as an excuse to not lose status after they cheated.

Thanks for an actual useful post for once. Still disagree with 2 fingers on one button being cheaty, but not everything will go your way right?

I appreciate the response, and just wanted to touch up on a few things you've mentioned.
- You said that Badlion has banned using multiple fingers for multiple buttons, but that still means that people are using two different fingers while PvPing - one for right clicking and the other for left clicking. I don't want to adjust every rule that you have created, but this is a small loop hole that could be pointed out.
-I disagree in the aspect where Butterfly Clicking decreases skill cap. I'll agree that it's less skillfull then Jitter Clicking, though I wouldn't say it doesn't take skill. You're using more then half of hour hand simultaneously just to click. I use my middle finger and pointer finger to left click, and I spam right click to block hit at the same time. This leaves me two fingers to control my mouse and maintain accuracy.

I do appreciate your response, and I understand that this rule may not be changed. I do not plan on getting banned, so I'll just refrain from doing anything until there is a permanent solution (I strongly believe that one day there will be a fix that will satisfy both sides). Thanks again, I hope you enjoyed the read!

Since butterfly clicking isnt enforced if we record with a hand cam and get banned for butterfly clicking by gcheat could we appeal for a unban then? or is it only if we get caught by staff?

I agree with everything, but this. It's just using what you have (a hand) to get what you want (higher CPS) we should stop counting fingers…

I solely meant left clicking. For example, some people use 'c' to leftclick AND their left mouse button. That's what I meant with "multiple fingers for multiple buttons"

I appreciate your big thread as well.

I would love to be able to butterfly click on Badlion, I can only jitterclick here and i'm not very good at it, but on Kohi when I butterfly it does wonders for my aim, I hope it becomes legal here c:

What you don't understand is that Butterfly clicking is not bannable. It's the type of mouse you have and the way you butterfly click. Razer mouses are known to set off multiple click packets when u hit the mouse click button, which is what gets people banned by GCheat. @Badware has a video of him butterfly clicking at a pace of around 9 - 11 cps yet on a click speed test he is actually getting 20+.

You can do it on all mice, from my razer deathadder to my steelseries rival (which I can actually butterfly faster) to my logitech g502 (but not too well because of how small it is) to even a shitty 3$ walmart mouse.
