Hi everyone, this is my first post, lol.

Anyways, this has been an idea that is quite good for people who would want to practice stuff like strafing, which is a sword only kit - no fishing rods, no bows, no flint and steels, only swords. The reason why this would be a good addition is because people like myself are decent at using only swords, however there are some people who are a lot better at getting combos in on me by using flint and steels and fishing rods. This gives me a major disadvantage against other players. The addition of the kit including full iron and a diamond sword would counter this, as it generally would be more even for new players and old.

I think he means like iron w/o sword or Diamond w/o sword.
The problem with this is how stale this is. In BUHC you can beat hackers, pingers, whatever.
In this, if you're up against someone with lower ping or anything you will lose almost 99% of the time, there's no counterplay to it.

How are you meant to kill a hacker, though? Apart from bow-spamming, you still do not have infinite arrows. Most hackers, when they play, they don't use one or two hacks, they use them all. Meaning that they can run whilst eating a gapple, giving you a major disadvantage. I also meant something like the diamond kit minus the bow. So you only use the sword and the armour. :P

Also, if you have a higher ping, chances are that it will confuse that person, though people could predict their path. However, there aren't many counterplayers to lower pinged players. But could there be some type of testing for this? I.E. You know how there's a map voting thing, perhaps something like this can be implemented but with the kit? This could gain some research onto the kit, and to see what the playerbase thinks of it.

Uhm, if people are ghost clienting (like most people on the ladder are) then they will use two or three melee pvp based hacks, at most.
If you let someone with aimbot triggerbot and antikb on you in melee you have no counterplay.
In build, you can lava them, you can bow them, and trust me, 64 arrows is enough to kill someone.

exactly, and in pot kits, you can kite and wait for gcheat, in diamond/iron you can bowspam, in UHC ladders you can bow them back/wait for gcheat aswell. Every ladder besides maybe soup has a built-in defense for hackers, since you have like no healing to work with.
