Cakes in Minecraft are one of the most saturating foods in the game. If you have been playing for quite a while now in your world, chances are high that you have everything you need for a cake. You can carry around cakes just like any other type of food. Though, to eat them, you will first have to place them down.

What is the Cake recipe in Minecraft?

The required materials to craft a cake in a crafting table are:

• 3 Wheat
• 1 Egg
• 2 Sugar
• 3 Milk Buckets

All you have to do to craft the cake itself is open the crafting table. Then, place the wheat, egg, sugar, and milk buckets according to the crafting recipe that you can see below:


You need to put three milk buckets in the first row, then two sugar in the second row. Make sure to keep one spot in the middle for the egg. Then, fill up the bottom row with one wheat in each of the boxes that are left over.

Do not panic, you will get the buckets back after you crafted the cake. You only have to use the milk in the buckets for the crafting recipe and do not have to spend any of your valuable iron.

How to obtain the items?

You can obtain all of the items while traveling the world. You will only have to go mining for the iron that you need for the buckets. Everything else can be found on the surface.

How to get Sugar?

You can get the sugar from sugarcane, which you can find in almost every biome. They generate next to water and can be easily found when traveling by boat.


Simply put one sugarcane into the crafting grid in your inventory, and you will get sugar. You can use any of the four boxes, and you can also use a crafting table for this.

How to get Wheat?

You can get wheat in villages or by planting it yourself and waiting for it to grow. If you decide to go for the first option, you will only have to travel through your world. You will end up coming across a village where you can then take the wheat from.


If you do not want to travel, you can also break some grass nearby. There will then be a chance for the grass to drop wheat seeds, which you can then plant.

How to get an Egg in Minecraft?

You can get eggs from chickens. If you find a chicken, you might end up finding an egg nearby. If you do not, you can use fences to keep the chicken in its place. Then, wait a bit for it to lay the egg.

How to get the Milk Buckets?

To craft the three buckets, you will need nine iron ingots. You can get iron ingots by smelting iron ores in a furnace or a blast furnace. One of the easiest ways to obtain iron is to go mining in a cave. And while you are there, you can also get yourself some diamonds to upgrade your equipment.


You can then get milk buckets by right-clicking on a cow while holding the bucket in your hand. If you already have a farm and cows, you will be able to get a cake much easier. If you do not have any cows nearby, you will have to travel through your world a bit.

The good thing is that you can get as much milk as you like from cows. The only limit is the amount of buckets that you have.

Get some wood to craft a crafting table. Put one plank into each of the four crafting slots in your inventory. Then, place it down and use the crafting recipe that we attached at the top or use the Too Many Items Mod.

Crafting the cake will not complete any of the advancements. Before achievements were renamed to advancements, you would get the "The Lie" achievement for crafting a cake, which was a reference to the videogame "Portal."
