On the other hand, most Asian parents (especially southeast Asian) are quite stingy with their money which results in the statistics of Japanese donating more. I personally think having a server hosted in Japan will benefit mostly Hong Kong and Japanese players whereas having a server in Singapore will benefit all of Asia with the compromise of slightly higher ping for Japanese players.
I'm a Singaporean myself and I can say with confirmation that my parents don't want me to spend money on games. I'm in support for the Singapore server simply because it'll benefit a larger percentage of Asia (+some part of Australia) than if it were to be hosted in Japan. I'm trying not to come off as biased so please don't think that I want the servers in Singapore because I'm Singaporean.

False…west coast players get around 90-120 ping to east coast and vice-versa. That's the reason why I never got the reason behind west coast servers being a priority back then.
MasterGberry wrote...
While that is mostly true, you have to factor in the fact that Japanese don't get horrible ping to NA like the rest of Asia does. Japanese get an average of 150-180 ping to NA servers, while the rest of Asia get at least 250 ping. Of course with this they'll be more willing to donate to the servers.

JapanPositive things of hosting a server in Japan
- Network quality
- Good ping for eastern Asia
- Good ping for the Pacific Ocean
Negative things
- Bad-ish ping for south-eastern Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand etc)
(sorry for non-detailed post)

This is all in my humble opinion, please no hate ^_^
Thanks for your time once again.
{Also I wanted to take this opportunity to ask : When will Season 13 be out, roughly, coz us Asians need to go back to school and study in a matter of days xD, thats what we do isn't it}
"I disagree, because Japanese players get similar ping to Singapore and to Japan" Japanese players get 0~40ms to Japanese servers and Japanese players get 130+ms to Singapore servers, that is not similar AT ALL. Let's say Japan & Korea is the 60% of the Asian Community (most likely it is) with 25% being SG/MALAYASIA and 15% being Indonesia/HK etc. Japan will benefit more players than Singapore. 60% of the community will enjoy 0~40ms, 25% of the community will enjoy 60~90ms with 15% being around from 40~120ms. While if it was in Singapore, 60% will dislike having 130+ms, 25% of the community enjoy 0~40ms and 15% being around 40~60ms. Also for the server to stay alive it would need donations and the server being hosted in Japan will 3x boost the amount of donations than in Singapore heck Singapore will probably not even make Japanese players donate at all. At the end of the day the bigger population deserves the better ping and Badlion deserves to get the donations to make the server alive which the only way is to have the server in Japan.

Even with my above average internet I still get 80~100ms. That is not close to 30 nor 40ms at all. So it would be incredibly unfair for the bigger Asian Badlion Population to get the worst ping as stated.
Hong Kong Servers will not work out at all there are multiple problems.
1. Cost
2. Dedicated Server Quality
3. Japanese players do not get good ping 100ms+
For Badlion the best option would be Japan since if the server is hosted in Japan there would be bigger population in Asia + More donations to keep up the server. So that is why Japan is better and benefits much more than Singapore or Hong Kong. MasterGberry said it would be 99% Japan so let it be hosted in Japan.

I am pretty sure West Australia players get better ping to Sydney more than Singapore in the first place. Where did you get that information that most Asian players are form South East Asia?! You are wrong most of the Asian population is from Japan, MasterGBerry himself has said Japan outweighs the amount of Singapore players. Japan will benefit much more players than in Singapore. Singapore will only benefit South East and Hong Kong where the community is much smaller than in Japan. When MCSG had Singapore servers 0 Japanese players played on it and the reason was because some Japanese players even got worse ping to Singapore than in NA West. So having the Asian server in Singapore will not boost up donations from Japan at all. While if the server is in Japan, all the players in Asia will have less than 100ms and the Japanese players donating much more than before to support the server. Badlion Asia will be hosted using AWS (same host as Kohi Asia), and Singapore players got 50~80ms to Kohi Asia. While Japanese players receive 130ms+ to Singapore servers resulting in Japanese players not playing in the Singapore server. That will make the Asia Pot PvP lose over 150 players. Losing Japanese players also means much less donations causing Badlion Asia to be shut down.
So if you want Badlion Asia to last long and have a stable server than Japan would be the best. Not just for players but for Badlion it self it would be the best option.
Japan = More Players, Better Dedicated Servers and MUCH MORE DONATIONS***.
End the war now and let MasterGberry and Badlion focus on creating Season 13 and the servers.

And that's why I even commented on this thread, it says Israel has #8 connection, and my ping and speeds prove otherwise.

I'll now dissect your reply one by one to show how wrong you are about many of your arguments.Shnoopy wrote
False. West Australian players played on the Asian server of MCGamer hosted in Singapore. I know this because I was active in the MCGamer community and have heard west Australians stating they played on MCGamer Asia back then. I would rather trust an actual West Australian player.
Shnoopy wrote
Singapore isn't the only southeast Asian country. There's plenty of Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and many more. You're being biased in your judgement by only looking at Singapore alone. Obviously there's a smaller number of Singaporean players since Singapore is such a tiny country.
Shnoopy wrote
May I know where you got the statistics from? Because that definitely is wrong. Having a server in Singapore will benefit all of Asia with the compromise of Japanese players getting around 80 ping while majority of Asia will get below 100. It'll be totally different for the other case since Japan is very far away from other Asian countries which are not in Southeast Asia or Hong Kong.
Shnoopy wrote
Once again, you're pulling statistics out of thin air.
Shnoopy wrote
Singaporean players will get around 90 ping average, but Asia doesn't consist only of Singapore. You have to consider the fact that there are many other Asian countries and many of them will get well over 100 to Japan servers.
Shnoopy wrote

No one would know what exactly will happen to the Asia servers and whether or not it'll be a success. Ultimately the point of an Asia server is to benefit as many Asians as possible hence why many of the people in this thread showed their support for a Singapore based server.
Shnoopy wrote
What are you referring to by "war"? Because as far as I can tell this thread shows a perfect example of a good and healthy discussion. The OP's point of making this thread is to have a look at what the community prefers-whether to have a Japan server or Singapore server.
At the end of the day having an Asian server would be great for everyone. Anything below 150 is good to play. The only reason this discussion happened is to have a look at which location would be most beneficial and strategic. The best way to find out from Asian players about their preference is to hold a poll in game so that everyone can vote on it. Statistics never fail. I don't mind having a server in Japan, just that since this discussion is a thing I might as well put in my opinions.

rip the first dc to be hosted not at the coast for the first timeidk but its kinda cool to see all locations are near tbe coasts

Am singaporean but the best choice is Japan1.Good Server + More Players
2. Averages the ping for Everyone i think (50-120ish)
3.More JP yters than the rest so it could be great advertisement for Badlion so that the AS Server might not die so easily
