clickbaited AGAINfreek if you move this thread to media im fucking stabbing myself
anyway this was copy and pasted from @Hypnotic and im basically giving my thoughts on his thread, https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/123562
So, many people (me included) feel as if global elo is biased towards those who are better at melee, and for S13 I would personally love to see this more balanced. Especially now with no shared accounts, global would be a complete representation of the best overall player in all types of kits, not just melee or bow. I feel I am a little biased because I'm generally more decent at bow, but I know for sure that I am not the only player who is wanting more bow ladders for this same reason.
When it comes to actually balancing, it can be a little difficult. I mean, there's Iron, Diamond (debatable) , UHC, Advanced UHC, Horse, and Archer. It's hard to break those down into more groups right? Well, here's what I propose; we separate archer into different kits, there could be an archer like the old archer, requiring bowspamming as well as fast reflexes, there could be another archer similar to Kohi's practice archer, with open maps, focusing on the more longshot type of bowing, and then we could also keep the current archer ladder, because it does a good job at being unique because of the distance-based damage.
So with this layout we would have 8/17 kits being bow-based, instead of the current 6/15 or less: (7/17 if you don't count diamond)
Here's where I come in - I'm giving my thoughts as to where I think the kits stand.
Iron - 36 Arrows (four more than before, but I think that an extra 4 might make a difference. There have been times where I run out of arrows and got bowspammed and ded xddd)
Diamond - Switch bow out with fishing rod. It may seem kinda crazy, but using a bow to get combos can be kinda hard. Keep the bow if you want, but please add a rod.
UHC - 48 arrows. Infinite arrows can be kind of a drag, especially since the Advanced kit has less stacked bow enchantments.
Advanced UHC - 96 arrows, or 1.5 stacks. As aforementioned, we want Advanced to actually be more advanced, not just less arrows. Also, 3 gapples + 1 head feel right for no absorp.
Horse - Only one stack of arrows, and since it's Iron with more arrows by the time your horse is dead I'd just switch the armor to full proj 1 Iron. Also, Power 1 on a bow might balance out the fight where your horse is dead. Maybe sharpness 1 on the iron sword? And hopefully a fishing rod, but it can't hit a player. It's supposed to be used to pull in a horse.
Archer - No change, but maybe one gapple. Absorptionless.
Kohi Archer - No change.
{Rest of Melee Ladders}
So please, don't instantly shut this idea down just because you favor melee, bowing is a huge factor in Minecraft pvp, and it should be represented in the global ladder as such. However, because I prefer bow ladders, I know that I'm biased, so I'd like to hear from the community, what do you guys think about to addition of more bow ladders in an effort to balance the global leaderboard?

You're turning most of these kits away from being more bow-oriented with these ideas, here's how.Iron - 36 Arrows (four more than before, but I think that an extra 4 might make a difference. There have been times where I run out of arrows and got bowspammed and ded xddd) this ia alright
Diamond - Switch bow out with fishing rod. It may seem kinda crazy, but using a bow to get combos can be kinda hard. Keep the bow if you want, but please add a rod. no, Diamond represents an OCN scenario. OCN never had rods.
UHC - 48 arrows. Infinite arrows can be kind of a drag, especially since the Advanced kit has less stacked bow enchantments. Again, you're just making people want to melee rush more with limited ammo.
Advanced UHC - 96 arrows, or 1.5 stacks. As aforementioned, we want Advanced to actually be more advanced, not just less arrows. Also, 3 gapples + 1 head feel right for no absorp. More healing = people melee rush more
Horse - Only one stack of arrows, and since it's Iron with more arrows by the time your horse is dead I'd just switch the armor to full proj 1 Iron. Also, Power 1 on a bow might balance out the fight where your horse is dead. Maybe sharpness 1 on the iron sword? And hopefully a fishing rod, but it can't hit a player. It's supposed to be used to pull in a horse. Rods will kill the Horse ladder, and extinguish every hope that it will remain a bow ladder. If you have a rod, why bother shooting at the horse? Why not just reel it in and combo?
Archer - No change, but maybe one gapple. Absorptionless. no, archer takes long enough as is
Kohi Archer - No change. sure

@Jahmyr You're turning most of these kits away from being more bow-oriented with these ideas, here's how.Iron - 36 Arrows (four more than before, but I think that an extra 4 might make a difference. There have been times where I run out of arrows and got bowspammed and ded xddd) this is alrightYeah, I felt like I was giving iron a few more arrows for a good reason too.
Diamond - Switch bow out with fishing rod. It may seem kinda crazy, but using a bow to get combos can be kinda hard. Keep the bow if you want, but please add a rod. no, Diamond represents an OCN scenario. OCN never had rods.Yeah, I guess you're right. But did OCN ever have proj prot on the armor? Nope.
UHC - 48 arrows. Infinite arrows can be kind of a drag, especially since the Advanced kit has less stacked bow enchantments. Again, you're just making people want to melee rush more with limited ammo. Then let's keep the Infinity for Advanced UHC as well, why don't we! Encourage more bowing! Yay! (I actually do like this, but for real, if you've seen a Hivlik vs. Doe fight, it took so long in the regular UHC ladder. There is a sword for a reason.)
Advanced UHC - 96 arrows, or 1.5 stacks. As aforementioned, we want Advanced to actually be more advanced, not just less arrows. Also, 3 gapples + 1 head feel right for no absorp. More healing = people melee rush moreSimple, bowspam them back and drain their health. Absorptionless would stay.
Why not just reel it in and combo?I just wanted people whose horses died to have a chance in this ladder. When was the last time your horse died and you still managed to kill the other player?
Archer - No change, but maybe one gapple. Absorptionless. no, archer takes long enough as isThink of it this way: We revert to the old archer but keep the gapple. I don't want that, because it encourages bowspamming. Plus, if it's a long range fight, you should be able to kill them in one shot if they're on 0.5 and they eat the gapple. It's also another excuse to shoot them while they're eating.
Kohi Archer - No change. sureYeah, this would be good. Thanks for agreeing with me on this at least xddd
