OCN would die even more quickly if bought by Badlion, IMO.I can't say I'd agree with it, people don't realize that what's left of the OCN community would quit and Badlion players wouldn't fill the space.
EDIT: In theory, yes it would be fucking amazing. Most people at OCN want 1.7, a bigger playerbase, and a good anticheat, but in reality I highly doubt it would end up as we're imagining. OCN is mostly still alive because of it's community, and regardless of what anybody says, Badlion's community is pretty toxic in a way that's not gonna be fixed no matter how strict it gets. Badlion's players would play right after the merge but in weeks it would be emptied of basically everyone and eventually Badlion would remove the gamemodes entirely.

I'm curious to see how this goes. Part of me wants to see it happen, but part of me knows that Badlion has almost nothing to gain by doing it. I'm 99% certain Archy mentioned on Overcast forums a while back that Badlion could easily develop OCNs plugins, which I'm sure we all already know.Posted on 12 July 2016 - 06:05 PM

I know Archy said awhile back that Badlion and OCN have a bit of a silent "agreement" not to take each others' gamemodes, but I also remember Gberry saying that he thinks OCN broke that by moving to 5v5 right as badlion was experimenting with it. I think ultimately, Badlion doesn't think it would be worth the time to develop their own OCN, and it would be such a mess to integrate PGM into Badlion's plugin anyway, that they might as well start from scratch.
(if they really wanted OCN gamemodes without wasting tons of dev time, they could use an OCN scrim plugin to start with, it's free & open source so they could use it and modify the plugin however they want)

I'm sick of seeing the same thing said over and over:1. The reason kohi gamemodes "died" on BL was around 40-50% of kohi's regular playerbase got banned between GCheat and Judgement Day 7. Who knew patching most of the commonly used clients/hacks would kill a community. A lot of them have also already moved over to the Badlion equivalents of Arena and SG and don't play on practice and kohi games.
2. Our version of PGM, named MPG, has been done for a while and SG2.0, skywars, and most parts of Arena S13 use it. Once S13 is done we could literally whip out a gamemode every couple of days if we wanted to.
3. We are focusing on team gamemodes with prizes in the future, and we want to move away from 1v1 other then fun tournaments. Ladders for 1v1/2v2, competitive tournaments for 5's.
4. I thought this was known, but 1.7-1.10 all on the same server is coming soon for BL, and we will HOPEFULLY continue to support 1.7 until enough of the playerbase leaves that version.

No one's gonna have the balls to do this so I'll pit it forward: So, does this mean a bargain with OCN is 100% meaningless since you can replicate everything they have and because, according to Gberry, they broke the no copying rule? I'm not asking if something like a merge would happen, I'm just asking if there's even a point of doing it.

Is CTF/TDM the only two gamemodes you'll be using similarly to OCN, or will other gamemodes be brought in aswell?Posted on 12 July 2016 - 10:52 PM
havent played that server since they falsely banned me 2 years ago roflPosted on 13 July 2016 - 12:10 PM
I really like OCN, it's very unique and has its own competition, they have had 10+ tourneys (possibly more).Last edited on 13 July 2016 - 12:40 PM by Archybot
The tl;dr of the vocal minority of OCN is they would rather stick to themselves and fade into nothing more then a top server that failed into nothing then have it transferred into Badlion and maintain at least a little bit of OCN's legacy. If you look at their poll, the majority highly disagrees with the vocal minority which was one of the biggest issues with OCN, a small handful of overly vocal people controlled the server and lead it to it's failure, which we don't allow on BL.
If anything this thread has proved the points that everyone has been trying to make about OCN and their community.
