i have never cheated because i wanted to become known as a good player and not some filthy cheater if and when i did get caught. I wanted to, as half said, be able to look back and not see myself as a person who broke the rules to get to the top. Now i can't say the motivation is the exact same but i guess its more about my reputation which i value a fair bit at this point, and I dont want to be looked down apon upon as a cheater, but as someone who always stood by their beliefs to play legitI guess i hacked really blatant on servers a while back but I stopped doing so cus its honestly not even that much fun.

I once used an autoclicker when I first got in to the PvP community and well… That didn't end too well did it? I got unbanned and I understood that I didn't want to continue ruining other players experiences by using unfair advantages and I wouldn't develop as a player at all if I cheated. Although testing out hacks yourself give you a great idea of how they work and how to recognise them when other players are using them. I want to win, I don't want a client to win for me. Therefore the players who hack their way to the top, aren't really the top at all!Posted on 08 August 2016 - 04:45 PM
I used to cheat but then I just stopped one day and haven't hacked since and don't plan to :DLast edited on 08 August 2016 - 05:46 PM by ThatOneCombo

Very good and interesting thread!!! I personally don't or never have cheated. For me I didn't because I do everything by the book IRL and on MC , it's just my nature. I believe in fair and friendly play. Having has a 3 year staff career across a few servers, I quickly realised hacks ruin the gameplay for others and I guess the person using them only cheats them self. But a huge reason for me is I totally focus on my Staff position, helping the community is more important than personal glory for me.Posted on 08 August 2016 - 06:15 PM
Back in like 2012 when I used to play on this not very popular pvp server (50 players on at a time), where everyone knew eachother, and at the same time had rivalries I would always x-ray. Pretty much everybody on the server x-rayed. When I started playing Hardcore Factions and stuff, I was still able to gain access to x-ray and stuff but the only reason I didn't was because I wanted to be legit. Just knowing your work pays off I think is what drives it. It's not really fun to cheat especially in such a simple game like Minecraft.Last edited on 08 August 2016 - 06:27 PM by ITSPINGER

1. If you cheat you are most likely going to get banned, that means you can't play and can't become staff.
2. What fun is there being a closet cheater with an undetected client? Sure you might win but you know that its not by skill you are winning.
3. I dislike it when people hack because it ruins my experience so I don't want to do that to others.
4. To me it just feels… wrong. Its like in real life you know what's the moral think to do.
5. Cheaters are frowned upon in all walks of life- you are just kidding yourself in essence.
You can actually become a staff if you got unbanned.
To actually get accepted u must be 6 months of u not banned.

Cheating doesn't appeal to me personally. Especially closet cheating. . I only find winning fun if I truly deserved it. If I win by cheating, then I don't deserve it, therefor it's not fun.Last edited on 08 August 2016 - 07:43 PM by greywalk
I think I am looking for something like [The Most Purely Mental Battle]I started playing Minecraft for some reason. Idk. But yeah [ ] is what attracted me to Badlion rather than the other more casual servers, and also it's what attracted me to Archer rather than the other ladders, and lead me to play thousands of matches of /that/. You can't really hack in Archer, even lowkey, and the execution is so minimal that it is far more about what your decisions look like than your execution, at least compared to the other ladders.
I don't want people to be able to hack vs me, I don't want to get carpal tunnel switching hotkeys, blah blah blah. Let's skip all the bullshit and get right to the place where I can start exploring the metagame please. Idk it's just a general interest in ideas, etc, rather than the more fake things.
I want to strip away all the garbage and fight you mind to mind.
Sometimes I think I shouldn't even play Mineman if that's really what I'm looking for. Isn't Chess a more pure mental game? In some ways it definitely is. One thing that has always irritated me about Chess though is how much of a lame history class it is. You have to memorize all these stupid opening lines. Bobby Fischer, ftr, was also irritated by this, and proposed this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess960 – as a solution, "rendering the prospect of obtaining an advantage through the memorization of openings impracticable."
Further back and more real still though has to be Philosophy, issues, etc, but yeah.

Yeah but where ever you go being a cheater will always stack up against you.

Because cheating isn't fun, and the point of video games is to have fun. At least the type of cheating where you are using ghost clients to get to the top of the leaderboards, I can't possibly see how anyone can do that and enjoy it.Posted on 09 August 2016 - 12:43 PM
I feel that learning how to cheat "well" is just as hard as learning to play legitimately, well. I am by no means a good player, but I believe I have gotten somewhere with this game, and with my mouse control in general. Learning to mimic a good player with a client seems to be a waste of time. The rest of my summer would be better spent furthering the development of my mechanical skill, not starting anew by learning how to use a client.Of course, if I cheat I run the risk of getting banned.

never have cheated, never will. What's the point of winning if you never gain any skill.Posted on 09 August 2016 - 01:01 PM

Well I used to cheat, but that's when I was garbage. I never cheat anymore because I didn't feel good when I cheated. I felt stressed and paranoid.
