I don't cheat because it's illogical in a number of ways, the first being that this is a video game, and I am very interested in actually improving in my skills at this game. Why on earth should anyone who wants to get better at a game cheat? It just doesn't add up.

The second reason I don't cheat is because of the risk of being caught, but this reason really means nothing in my case. I already know that I'm not going to cheat (and never have), so there's no reason for me to worry about being caught doing something I've never done.

The last reason is just the fact that it completely ruins your opponent's enjoyment of the game. You have an extreme unfair advantage if you're cheating, and the people you play against who are legit are not going to appreciate your use of that advantage. It's just not chivalrous, it's rude, it's bad sportsmanship, and, well, it's also not allowed. So don't cheat.

I really like what I've read so far on this thread. Personally, I've never cheated in Minecraft, simply because I value my reputation and who I am. It's harmful to the game when people cheat, and only makes this game have a shorter lifespan. Cheaters ruin games, and this game will die sooner than later if cheaters aren't stopped. Playing legit breeds healthy, friendly competition.
