Your arguments are pure generalization, and not logical. How about you learn some respect for others?

Screensharing is extremely unprofessional, period. There are various ways that a player may be gaining an unfair advantage and it is simply not feasible to keep checking if nothing is showing up. Even if a player is not cheating, they could still get banned because a staff member decides that they found something suspicious. Additionally, a staff member could potentially install malicious software on a player's computer and/or steal their access token, allowing temporary access to the player's Minecraft account. It would be more effective to simply record all the packets between the client and server so that they could be analyzed later on if someone is suspected of cheating.Posted on 17 October 2016 - 04:35 AM

As far as I know, there are ss tools which I have no problem running on my computer if it takes like 1 minute.I wouldn't let someone else look on my computer by their own accord, that is invasion of privacy and its like you allowed the police to root around in your house just because they suspected you might have something to hide. In a SS mostly you show them whatever and if they tell you to look in a file that may be personal, tell them, any good staff should realise that and ease off.
SS is inaccurate anyway, I've been ssed 5 times and they've been unable to find my autoclicker each time. So +1 for not ssing, but some of the arguments put forward are not ones I would agree with.

but it isnt (isn't as good as we need it to be) and we will still have to SS in tournaments like the upcoming CTF one because GCheat isn't able to detect them all.

+1any decent ghost client with low settings (that can still bring you to the top of leaderboards especially in pot ladders) won't be detected at all or at least until JDay. I've been screenshared anywhere from 4-8 times (I can't remember). and the only time I've felt "an invasion of privacy" was when para staff wanted to go through my skype received files. That is it, no one ever went through my conversations and granted it's not like I have any "private conversations" most of my conversations on skype are like "call me fuck u faggot".

Any server which attempts to blanket ban VPN usage does not have particularly intelligent staff.
If you want, I could make a video showing a method of cheating that would be impossible to find via SS.
And would MineHQ ban someone if their Minecraft crashed when asked to screenshare? That would be stupid.

My opinion is that we should only be SSing on big events like the upcoming tournament. Just doing it daily doesn't seem worthwhile.Posted on 17 October 2016 - 12:52 PM

that'd be incredibly inconvenient for your minecraft to crash right after being frozen.

I would be scared shitless to let my computer be screenshared/taken over by some of the staff here. I would really only be comfortable letting Seniors+ doing this, and I seriously hope Badlion doesn't make the mistake of trusting Arena and UHC mods with this kind of power.Posted on 17 October 2016 - 02:11 PM

1. Invasion of Privacy: I don't want to be edgy but you can still decide not to screenshare and take the ban, the only reason people would not want to get screenshared are the people who do get screenshared, nobody cares about your 1tb hard drive of your precious shotas and lolis.
I've been screenshared twice before (both let off clean) and I can pretty much say it pretty much wasn't an invasion of privacy because they only check where a client can potentially be hidden.
Screensharing is for the better of the community, you can't always rely on an anticheat.
2. Players' Inconvenience: You are only screenshared for a reason, once you get screenshared its likely it won't happen again, again the point above, this would be one of the few valid reasons in my eyes but its still your choice to play on badlion and by their rules.
3. Unprofessional: http://investorintel.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/tin_foil_hat.gif
Also the csgo community is too big for people to actually do screenshares.
4. False bans: I really doubt you have been screenshared before, your able to let them control the computer automatically without touching it and just go off and eat dinner with join.me
This can be a possible invasion of privacy but I really doubt people would become staff just to abuse people in a screenshare.
Usually there is more than one person in the room too speaking from my experience, when fleeq was recording for his banning hackers series trying to do anything to get me banned lmao.
Also false bans is completely out of the question, nobody is banned for no reason.
oh and http://prntscr.com/cv20vy <==== wasted my time making this post until i saw this.

I love the idea of screensharing on badlion and I wish they would, but I wouldn't even trust a senior with access of mouse and I was AFK. If they tell me what to do, I feel way more comfortable doing it myself, regardless if its the same outcome. I'd also like if they do screenshares I'm hoping that they can make an SS Tool (which im very confident that the dev team and archy/gberry can do) that could simplify a 20-45 minute screenshare to a 10 minute or less one. most ghost clients are VERY easy to find. at least more easy than you'd expect.
