What do you think is the most significant issue within the Badlion community? If you do think there is an issue, how do you plan to resolve the issuePosted on 27 November 2016 - 02:24 PM
Lots of engagement from (non-community manager) staff on here–not so much from everyone else. What do you think this means?

This is actually a very good point - part of the issue has been that non-staff forumers have mostly shitposted on a thread that is meant to be serious, and had their posts deleted.
But I think it does speak to the fact that we need more non-staff engagement, which is precisely what we're here to try to attempt. We're here to be the voice of the community, and not the staff team, so we need players to tell us what they want and how they feel about Badlion so we can try to improve that.
Very good question, thanks.

In my opinion, there is a lot that can be done to make the Badlion Community much larger and more active on things such as the Forums, but the big issue will always come back to the staff-community relationship. I want to make sure the community can have faith in me and the other CMs as representatives of the ideas and suggestions they want, not someone who has no real purpose and is there to be there. I believe I have failed my job if I at any time appear like the latter.

To all managers, do you have prior experience in a similar position or is this your first time? Also what is the biggest thing you think needs working on within the community as of right now?Last edited on 27 November 2016 - 03:14 PM by Utsuho

We need to work harder to get you guys out in numbers and to encourage you to work with us, this is a big priority for me. There are ways we can do this and I hope to see them come as soon as possible. We need to learn from past servers and make ourselves people you can work with.

I have held a similar position on OCN before, though that ran short due to conflicts with their administration. Big priority is getting the community to join with us and to make ourselves into people they can feel confident in working with.

Which community manager does the best job?Posted on 27 November 2016 - 05:21 PM
Will you all be working closely with the heads of Minigames, Tournament, Arena, and UHC respectively to complete any goals you may have?Any plans for some staff polls soon ? :P

Why I believe that is clearly me, as you see I am the only one who is capable of being able to meme on the forums.

But to be real, none of us are really the "best at our job", we all work on the same things and have the same role. Can't really say anyone is better, even if they are it's too early to tell.

Will there be a fixed place for members of the community to request, give feedback about community relations, etc. Perhaps somewhere on the forums a sub forum? Something sort of structured like the reports section, maybe having a format for requesting something and another format for feedback?Posted on 28 November 2016 - 01:23 AM

Building on what Unwise said, staff members are typically more interested in the role since they're closer to the community. Most members are just asking for opinions which are getting removed.

Let me explain; we very rarely will go and tell them that they need to change this, we ask them what they think needs to be changed, and then we see what can be done within reason.

How much information is actually relayed to you, are you only given information that you're going to provide the community with? Or do you have more information for future plans as well e.g. What's going to happen in a couple months.Community managers just seem like a bridge from players to higher ups. What will you realistically relay to the head of community management and other administrators. Don't be vague saying ideas and stuff like that, because there's obviously more to that. What other jobs do community managers actually have.
Let me give an example on why I'm asking that. Community managers on MineHQ are meant to make Reddit posts, fill the community in on what's happening, organize events and other varieties of tasks. What are you community managers actually going to do. What're you guys going to plan on "organizing" if the community manager rank works in a similar way like MineHQ's

We aren't under NDA, so there are hard limits on what we can know. I would say with occasional exceptions, we only know things we can tell the community.
