HEY YOU THERE. ARE YOU TOXIC IN ANY WAY OR FORM? HAVE YOU EVER TOLD SOMEONE TO KILL THEMSELVES? READ THIS THREAD NOW https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/97032When was the last time you walked up to someone and told him “Go kill yourself.” If you did this to a stranger, you are complete scum. Why the absolute fuck are you telling someone to go end their life. This is literally the worst thing you can tell someone. I realize you may be frustrated, but under no circumstances is it ever okay to tell someone to kill themselves. As shitty as your day may be, there may be another person who is worse off
Like seriously, when would you ever go and tell people to do one of these horrible things. If any of you said this to me to my face I would knock out your front teeth. Just because you are hiding behind a computer screen what gives you the right to say something so terrible. Just by the severity of the insult I would judge how bad of a person you are.
Oh, no, but its not your fault, of course. "He was bow spamming. He didn't say gg. He was laggy…" It's sickens me to see these used as reasoning for such actions. Accept that you can improve at the game, and say “good game” or “gg/gf”. Go watch any professional gaming scene, you will never see the players walk up to the other team and say something as stupid as “drink bleach”. NO they shake their opponent’s hand and then walk away with some dignity. Even with sports 100 times more violent than Minecraft PVP people pay respects to their opponent, no matter how hard they got beaten up (https://youtu.be/RcmTA4NDzz0?t=23s).
Credits to freekkiller for this
So anyways my suggestion is to make saying "kys" a perm mute or a temp ban or something more severe than a 7 day mute. First if someone was feeling suicidal you could push them to the edge. If you made a person actually jump off a bridge just because you were being bowspammed, I wouldn't just mute you, I would put you behind bars.

I don't think bans should ever be handed out for chat offences. The whole stacking mute thing plays a role in this too; I think it should stay how it is right now. If I get any hate for any reason, please talk about said reason.Posted on 05 December 2016 - 08:36 PM
Reminds me that IceHawk blocked me because I'm a laggy player and beat him in VanillaI would be Gold V close to Gold IV if I didn't lag out so much :/

It's over a goddamn game. Friends in real life say shit like kill yourself a lot as a joke, and in game it is 99.99% due to losing in a ranked match, so I mean if you are gonna actually kill yourself over someone getting salty over a pixel death when they obviously don't actually want you to kill yourself constitutes you for getting the fuck off of games and get help, it is for the better. Whether or not the person gets muted, if you somehow took it to heart it won't even change, even though I highly doubt anyone intelligent would play badlion if they know how the community is and they know they are so sensitive.Posted on 06 December 2016 - 02:30 PM

We have teens mailing themselves in boxes across the country, do you really think they would be smart enough to realize the toxic community?

What the fuck does that even mean. That's going by the logic that saying any random thing could offend someone so the entire chat should be muted. Just because some idiot for examples sees someone say rhksjdjdlsfj in chat and immediately jumps out a window doesn't mean the network has to compensate for a tiny percentage of people who just aren't smart.

I'm not trying to say it shouldn't be mutable, because of course it isn't a nice thing to say. But the mutes for it shouldn't be taken out of context, same with ALL mutes. That is the biggest fault of the mute system - context. I used to see countless out of context muted that were completely stupid, and have been muted like that aswell before I was banned. Plus the punishment for it should be the same as other mutes, not around 600 times longer as a first mute for something like disrespect.Posted on 06 December 2016 - 05:44 PM

A friend of mine was muted for 'racism' after saying 'rly nigga', so just from seeing the word 'nigga' the staff member thought he was being genuinely racist. +1 to this, context means everything.

I forgot to add, most people on BL are teens. TEENS DO STUPID THINGS. TEENS (cough tene cough) CHEAT. Also pretty much half the community lack common sense. Besides saying something like abshcbhshdb isn't even an insult, idk how you even came up with that.

Kids like 9 playing MC would not even know what 'kys' means and they might use it.They might think 'kys' meant 'kidding yolo soz'
My friend SUCKS at english and got muted by saying 'kys'; he misunderstanded the meaning

You mean "misunderstood"?
And how would someone come up with, "kidding yolo soz"?
If that was an abbreviation that certaintly isn't popular.
Once again another stereotype, kids = stupid. Pls I learned the periodic table when I was in third grade and also I was beast at deciphering abbreviations. I can say the same about my peers.
"But that doesn't mean anything, someone else could be dumb!" Considering this is a modern age with a lot of texting, if they were 9 right now and didn't know what "OMG" or "kys" which already to me looks malevolent I would think they lived under a rock.
For your friend I guess that's his fault. If I learn a new abbreviation I would search it up (btw what does LFF mean?) now he knows what it means. If you learned a new swear word would you go running your mouth off and say "but I didn't knowww"

But overall I think it's an 'OK' idea since if I kill somebody in ranked all I expect from them is msging me 'noob', 'fck yourself' and especially 'kys'
Just saying
you're to *your
My friend is not a native english speaker

also for the pm problem just turn them off and skype the friend instead. What I did.
Not being a native English speaker isn't an excuse. If he lives near electronics, especially texts and texting she should catch on to the basics. Also if he plays mc he should know that there are malicious and toxic people on the internet. If not before even chatting or doing anything learn the basics.
