Not being a native English speaker isn't an excuse. If he lives near electronics, especially texts and texting she should catch on to the basics. Also if he plays mc he should know that there are malicious and toxic people on the internet. If not before even chatting or doing anything learn the basics.
I fixed 'espect' to 'expect' before you mentioned it, but anyways I and my friend are South Koreans but I've been born in the U.S. so I'm a semi-native speaker. Only me and another guy (who's also from U.S.) knows those kind of internet abbreviations. Furthermore, our school is a special school where English is strictly teached and there are over 16 american teachers just for our education; but I swear to god; only me and another guy I mentioned earlier know about those abbreviations.

Also I was born in a Chinese family but in the U.S.
I chose English as my native language but I can understand most Chinese but cannot speak it. Idk why you didn't learn these at the same pace as me but idk. Also why do you go to a special school?
