I did, the whole point is, it won't permanently get rid of toxicity. However it will reduce it.

@Jezii hey didn't you quitIndifferent on the thread. Could reduce some toxicity but idk. Interested to see what the owners say because I'm sure they've considered it before.

I think of a filter as an artificial "fix" in attempts to reduce toxicity. The more restrictions you put on the chat, the more and more backfire you are going to get from the community. I enjoy the fact that we have an open chat and nothing is truly censored, its much more organic. If we are going to filter out those words why not filter out IP's, "ur bad", "ur shit", etc. etc. It will honestly become a shit show like Mineplex where you literally cannot type a single cuss word or any variation of the sort that would "offend" someone. The reality is, a large portion of our player base is arguably older/more mature than a kid friendly server like Mineplex or Hypixel. I think creating a filter would create a unwanted restriction and cause a distaste from the people who flock to our server because of the fact that they can actually say what they want without being immediately blocked. If people say stupid shit, you can report them. We do our best with keeping the chats clean of misfits who think they can shittalk but its not ever going to be completely clean and I think that is part of what makes Badlion, Badlion.Posted on 29 December 2016 - 01:59 AM
but you would cancel out skyscraper :(Posted on 29 December 2016 - 05:07 AM

SG on Hive also had a similar "age group" of players but the toxicity was way less. They had this sort of system. Our player base is older but I wouldn't go far to more mature. The minority of players are older and more mature however the larger portion ar still youngins who are toxic af. I can't blame em. Maybe with Huahwi back the mood might change? When you got people like SuchSpeed who the young new players would see as a "good" player, (personally I think he's dog shit xoxoxo) , the new players would see his toxicity as the way to go.
Generally, this is a pretty simple basic idea, I think on the whole , staff have always had an issue of yeah you're good at moderating (debatable) however you struggle to see it from our pov. This is especially for the "better players" who sweat their balls off to win. @lukazac ly xoxoxo How'd he feel if he loses a fight and they say something along the lines of "BIG FAT GG YOU C*NT" . You probably don't understand cos. First, don't take this offensively, but you probably lose all your fights anyway. Second, any mans with 24 pairs of chromosomes won't talk shit to a mod. Well saying that, I have but yanno what I mean

So I'll just call somebody a "sCUNTthorpe" then.
It's obvious for its meaning but nothing except a AI or an actual person would be able to tell.
I got this response when I asked the exact same question:
Context Matters.
You're an idiot. First of all, if pissed, you're not gonna type sCUNTthorpe cos it sounds stupid. Secondly, that won't even be toxic LOL, if anything it looks pathetic and funny. Even more reason not to say that.

Read my response above on how easy it is to bypass such filter.
You're not gonna understand. You've won 1 game in your entire blockgame career on this account Prolly an alt but still. This benefits the "better players" as they're the ones who usually gets more toxicity towards them since they're usually the ones that win. I've got the opinions of many "sweats" who approve and support this view ^-^
