Hey folks!

Today we are announcing some changes to the ranking structure on Badlion Network. We are also announcing some changes to how we are going to be handling some of our Badlion Esports features going forward as well.

Let’s dive into the changes to Badlion Esports and then focus on the rank changes which will make more sense after this.

Badlion Esports Features are coming to Badlion Open for everyone!

Badlion Esports has been our way of pushing Minecraft into a more competitive/esports environment. We feel that limiting some of these features behind a paywall is not going to help the entire Minecraft scene grow into a more competitive esport title. As a result, we are going to be slowly porting features on Badlion Esports over to Badlion Open so that all users can access them free of charge.

PUG Matchmaking

We will slowly be building a new PUG system on Badlion Open that will revolve around some existing and some new game modes. We hope that this PUG system will serve as a tool for players to get more practice in a serious 5v5 competitive environment. We hope also that more teams will begin to form as we make scrims more powerful of a tool on Badlion and re-investigate the concept of leaderboards.

1v1 League

The 1v1 League was originally meant to be a cash prize monthly 128 TPS system for hardcore ArenaPvP players. Based on community feedback, we will be working to redo this league system into a more event styled system with limited availability. We will have special times where we will be running a 1v1 League over a period of time instead of always having one active. This will make the gameplay more exciting for the limited duration of time, and also prevent it from getting too stale.

BAC UHC’s

UHC 6.0 is built on top of the technology that was used to create BAC UHC’s, and this technology is already available to everyone on Badlion Open for free. The only things we can bring from BAC UHC’s to Badlion Open is special games where BAC is required. This way there are less cheaters in any single game. We will look into doing this more closely as we get closer to Badlion Client 1.2 launch with some adjustments to make this possible.

Badlion Client

The Badlion Client for almost a month now has had support for Badlion Open with free access to the client anticheat (BAC). We are are happy to announce that this is not changing, and that we will be adding BAC integration to more games on Badlion Open over the next few months.

You can already use the Badlion Client for free on ArenaPvP Season 15 and activate BAC only matchmaking for ranked matches completely free. We also have other free features built into Badlion just for using the client such as getting an extra 10 ranked ArenaPvP matches per day if you are using the Badlion Client. The New Lion Plus Rank

The long awaited Lion Plus rank will be available later in the month. For all of you Lion members who had been waiting for ages to become a Lion Plus member your chance will soon be here!

There are some more awesome features we have planned for the Lion Plus rank that will be coming out in the near future on Badlion Open.

Converting Premium Ranks to Lion Plus Ranks

Very short and simple. Anyone who has purchased a Badlion Esports rank will automatically have their rank and subscription converted to the new Lion Plus rank. When the Lion Plus rank is available Badlion Esports will officially become the Lion Plus rank.

Anyone who purchased a 1 year rank Badlion Esports rank on the Badlion Store, as a token of our appreciation we will be giving you the new Lion Plus Perma rank for free.

Perma ranks have returned!

For those of you hardcore Badlion players who are ready to make a more serious commitment to Badlion and it's ongoing success we have great news for you! You will soon be able to purchase perma ranks in our store again! The pricing for all of the ranks on Badlion will be:

That's it. Very straight forward. There is an opportunity available to older Badlion players who have older perma ranks to upgrade their rank if they wish to also (just like in the past).

Donator Perma can upgrade to Lion Plus Perma for $70.
Donator+ Perma can upgrade to Lion Plus Perma for $50.
Lion Perma can upgrade to Lion Plus Perma for $25.
Plus Perma can upgrade to Lion Plus Perma for $50.

I believe all of this is straight forward. To buy a perma rank you will simply need to select the perma option when checking out. We will automatically apply the right price to your account if you have an old legacy perma rank on your account. We will also automatically handle if you purchase a rank for a friend, and apply any possible discounts they might be eligible for.

Please note all prices in this post are reflective of any taxes such as VAT.

Add Ons

What is an Add On? Add Ons are additional features you can purchase on Badlion for your account. These features are available only to Lion Plus members though. In order to purchase one of these features you must have an active Lion Plus account/subscription. This can be a subscription, 30 day purchase, or perma purchase. It doesn't matter! The first Add On we will be adding to the store will be the ability to disguise yourself in game. This feature will be available for a one time $10 purchase (you must maintain an active Lion+ rank to use this feature, more info below).

When you purchase an Add On it is yours to keep forever, as long as you have the Lion Plus Rank. I want to briefly explain this in a bit more detail with some fast FAQ.

If I purchase an Add On do I get to keep it?

Yes! You keep the Add On. You will always have a record showing you purchase it. Although you can only use the Add On Feature if you have a Lion Plus rank.

What happens if my Lion Plus membership expires? Do I lose my Add Ons?

You lose access to use the Add Ons until you renew your Lion Plus membership. Once you renew it all of your Add Ons are automatically activated again.

So if I buy a 30 day Lion Plus membership and an Add On, then wait 3 months and buy Lion Plus again I have my Add On I paid for?

Yup! Exactly. You are good at this.

Conclusion

We feel that changing how we handle our drive towards competitive Minecraft is a great step that we are taking with the community based on all of your feedback over the past 6 months.

We also hope that people are excited about the changes coming to the ranking system, which should bring back some more clear distinctions to what a rank is, and what a service is.

Very nice to see a permanent rank option given to buyers.

I'm especially excited for the PUG system. I presume there will be tools put in place to deal with players abusing /d to escape punishments?

Sounds great! Will there be features Lion+ has over lion? Without purchasing an addon on top of it. Or is the main thing for lion+ the add ons?

There are already features available on Badlion Open for Lion+ (Premium) that were not available to Lion rank. Lion+ will be getting most new features we add to ranks going forward. Plus will always be for the average user and Lion Plus for the power user.
