The current Archer is exactly how "Archer" should be, long range, dodging based. If that's too boring for anyone you still have UHC which is a quicker version of archer. The random damage thingy is quite stupid but that can easily be fixed.
Basic my opinion, -1

i kinda have a split opinion on the archer stuff. i like the idea of s15 archer i like how its long ranged and dodging based (even tho im really bad at long range :v).i think archer should be based off of this. the only thing i think should be changed is maybe make the maps a bit smaller so when ppl get low they dont just stand at the back of the map and dodge for 15 mins without shooting. i think the current archer with minor tweaks would be rly good.edit: ig the damage system is a bit random as well
-1 imo

I feel sort of the same although I feel like the S14 archer was the closest to being perfect and that with a few tweaks would make for great fights. The S14 damage system was perfect imo.

Forced long range fights are fucking boring lol yea archer was meant for long range but honestly who gives a fuck what its meant for.. its arenapvp, we should keep archer the way it was s14 before uhc becomes the most popular bow kit.Punch 1 + speed 1 + 2pearls = s15 archer??

Since people want archer to be long range so badly, just keep it like s14 archer and disable bow boosting, but my most preferred archer version will always be kohi's

season 14 minus bow boosting would be literally perfectPosted on 28 August 2017 - 10:55 AM

This, I think a reduction of a pearl might also be beneficial.

Haven't played the new Archer yet but saw some vids.As much as these ravines would increase my rating (no more losses to Peppermint or m0xy for example), I feel like we're losing the interesting dynamic where if the players have different distance preferences, the distance the fight will take place at is constantly being fought over. Also, another skill that isn't mentioned a lot is that some players have trouble quickly switching between distances, and now the ability to exploit this is sort of diminished as well.
Idk, I'd rather have the Peppermint and m0xy L's back than have a far match literally every game. I'm bad versus their aggressive styles, but it was cool to have to deal with them. I guess a response could be "Play Iron if you want to play close", but idk. Archer doesn't have to be defined as the far ladder. It could be the ladder where far is the most viable of all bow ladders even though it isn't the only way to play. The best sorts of games have a lot of possible ways to play at a high level and I don't see why we have to neuter this bow ladder just to fit it into a certain arbitrary box. The old Archer had a lot of room for creativity, but a lot has been cut away. And last, probably most importantly, as has been mentioned several times earlier in the thread… some maps are vulnerable to an endless stall if someone wants to just dodge and not fire.
