S15 archer can be fun, but half of the time players just camp as far as they can and matches last 15mn… it's really annoying, and you can't do anything about it (you can go at the edge of your side but it's still gonna be a 50+ block fight, and at this range you don't need to be a god to dodge)

S14 wasn't perfect as well but yeah something like what has been suggested would be better

@Metarus As you can see on this thread the people who like the S15 kit are certainly a minority so here are some possible solutions/changes you could bring up.

Maps

Honestly there was literally nothing wrong with the S14 maps. There are plenty of other ways to try and make archer long range and this isn't a good solution due to the fact it feels so repetitive and people just camp at the back. There's also a forest type map that contains lots of ridges meaning you can get caught on them and get shot while your stuck in the block.

Kit

Again the kit feels really repetitive. As Doe said people will literally start playing UHC because they got bored of the archer. Make it so people can push short range to close off a fight but not so that it overpowers a kit. Disable self damage as @Nicosby suggested as this would prevent bow boosting but would provide the fun aspect of knocking your opponent a fair distance when you hit them.

In terms of pearl amount I feel just a single pearl is all that's needed but it doesn't really make a difference between 1/2. 3 was certainly too much however.

So I decided to throw in some pros and cons of the new s15 archer soo here we go?

Cons.
- If you fight someone who knows how to play, the match is gonna at least be like 6 minutes long and literally no one wants that.
- You can't choose your playstyle like you did in s14, it forces you to long range only. In s14 you could have a variety of playstyles which sorta spiced up the kit.
- If someone high elo gets on 1 shot they'd probably stand in the back of the map and stall which again, is no fun.
- The kit is just kinda not as interesting.

Pros.
- Archer is long range based (which ig it was supposed to be)
- No bow boosting
- The gap has some sort of potential ig?

I mean s15 archer is definitely a creative idea, the plan on paper isn't bad but in it's current state it's not that great of a kit. It's really boring, takes forever, and no one is gonna wanna grind this, or even play this kit. Like Doe said, if this is the kit we're getting everyone is gonna play UHC instead lol.

Possible Solutions.
If Badlion really wants to roll with this long range style archer, here are some things that would make the current kit more playable imo.
    Smaller maps - The current maps are way too large and they literally promote stalling matches, especially the stone and grass one.
    Smaller gaps - Don't make the gaps super huge, maybe make then just 8 blocks wide or something, this would give players for flexibility on how they want to play.
    Fix the Damage system - Yeah the damage system is 100% luck based and broken rn.

Conclusion. As of now, the current archer is a little luck based with the damage system, and is boring to be honest. I'm not trying to be rude but there's not really another way to describe it. With a few tweaks I feel the current archer could be in okay kit if Badlion really wants to make the kit long range based. As of now, I'd probably go with legacy archer, and I take back my opinion from last week.

I know I'm not the best archer player, but these are my opinions.

The season 15 archer is terrible, if somebody gets low they can just run to the back of the map and it's impossible to hit them. Season 14 legacy archer is fine, nobody had nearly as many complaints about it while season 14 was going on. The only thing that consistently generated complaints was bowboosting, and that gets pretty easy to predict if you practice fighting people who do it long enough.

Having played a bunch of ranked Archer matches i have to say S15 Archer is absolutely not my thing. Half of my matches were 10 minutes and longer. If you only dodge, its impossible to get hit.

You guys play Archer and complain about match length? Go play UHC ladder then lol, it's basically the same but shorter. Not like I have 2k Archer and I only ever had one match that lasted more than 10 minutes (vs KidiZoom), the amount of bullshit I have to read on this thread is painful.

Didnt really intend to brag about points but there are too many bad players saying archer matches last more than 10 minutes which isnt true, just tryna defend the ladder thats more fun to me

This is a dumb reason to minus one. If a change in the kit changed your rating, so be it.

I personally am in the middle with this system. I haven't played a huge amount of archer nor am I a very good player, but both sides have good points.

To Msgings point, although the players who like S15 are a minority, some are some of the top players on the server such as Kikzo. I do like the kit though; forcing long ranges is a good idea for archer since that's kind of what it's supposed to be. I'm edging towards S15 because I think Iron is short range bow, Uhc is mid range, and archer is long range. That's kind of the point.
