Isn't GCheat constantly being updatedPosted on 06 November 2017 - 06:14 PM
Gcheat definitely needs an update. It was made 4 yrs ago with no updates till today and it is failing to catch blatant bhoppers. Badlion should start focusing on gcheat then anything else.Last edited on 06 November 2017 - 06:27 PM by ScrubV2
I'm pretty sure it's been explicitly said that server side anti-cheats aren't going to keep up as hacks get more advanced, hence client-side, if you don't want cheaters, toggle BAC only matchmaking and use the client. If you don't want to do that then there's no reason to complain because everything that can be done on Badlion's side is getting done with the resources available and you need to do your part. Options in Arena have been put in place to eradicate cheating, if enough people started doing it then the cheating problem would dissolve on arena at least.GCheat is still quite current and can catch a fair amount of things, but nothing can be done if lag can't be ruled out as the cause of flagging because of all the false bans it would cause. I still see several people banned an hour for cheating by the server and I'm sure if you scaled up the player base to that of Hypixel's Watchdog would be absolutely crushed. That isn't saying Watchdog is bad, it's a different style of anti-cheat I think.

It's only a matter of time before people start to implement hacks onto the Badlion Client

From what I know, it's updated heavily once every arena season.

I mean we catch a lot more then we autoban for. I don't know any bunnyhops that bypass GCheat fully, but some of them aren't set to autoban yet. I do believe that the autoban for most blatant shit is going live soon.Anyways, ALL clients that you know of that bypass gcheat that isn't stupid shit like a 8 cps autoclicker or 3.05 reach should be sent to my forum PMs after this patch goes live. I do believe I'm going to sit down with a few gberry and some seniors soon and implement about 10 checks that aren't programmed but discovered.

To bad its not free it cost a lot of time, money and effort. I would love to have a perfect anti-cheat but im sure it isn“t something they can just update in a week.. or month or more..

I wish it was this easy, first of all) Developing an anti-cheat takes time, effort and cost money. I do agree that it would be great to update GCheat (although I'm sure they are, but more of a major update) and I also believe it's needed. Think like this, if we turned off GCheat for let's say a day or two, you would notice a huge difference in a number of cheaters playing. I know where you are coming from, all of you, as mentioned earlier I totally agree that it would be amazing with an anti-cheat catching every hacker, but it's not possible with the advanced clients and low settings people are using/developing. I'm sure the developers/people working on the anti-cheat are trying their best, and so are we mods, to keep rule breakers off the server, but we also have to understand that cheating is, unfortunately, something people will continue doing, and it's getting harder and harder to catch them for both the anti-cheat and us mods with the low settings and advanced clients they are using (as I mentioned earlier).

Realistically, it doesn't matter if it costs money. The anticheat should be a priority over many things - you can't have fun if everyone is cheating and thats the stage it is coming to. So many servers die out because they get infested with cheaters and badlion (if it hasn't already) is coming to that stage.Posted on 07 November 2017 - 01:09 PM

I agree that It could be updated, but honestly it is doing a good job.Check badlion.net/punishments
Whenever I am spectating a hacker or am moderating I see a lot of bans stolen from GCheat and I honestly believe it does a better job than you might think.

People think gcheat is shit because they only see the hackers it doesn't ban. We're still averaging about 1 out of 3 people on Badlion receive bans.

Ok why are u neutral about updating a system that helps get rid cheaters in a competitive scene? I would atleast expect some reasoning from you.
